Activities at Iris Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators will bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Chinese New Year Celebraations
Staff and residents at Iris Court welcomed in the Year of the Snake with a day of celebrations and activities.
Inspired by Chinese culture and traditions, lucky red envelopes were exchanged and the home was decorated with hanging red lanterns. Residents learnt all about the traditions and superstitions of Chinese New Year. Head chef Jinesh cooked up an oriental feast for lunch and residents enjoyed the delicious food washed down with pots of Chinese tea.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the day with many saying: “I loved the music, the vibrant costumes and learning about the Chinese Zodiac animal traits. We found out that the Snake is the sixth animal in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese zodiac and is associated with wisdom, knowledge, intuition, creativity and good luck.
