Activities at Iris Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators will bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Natalie Robinson
Hello, I'm Natalie, and for nearly five enriching years, I've dedicated myself to the role of an activity coordinator. My passion lies in understanding the unique interests of each individual under our care. At Iris Court, I strive to craft activities tailored to the preferences of our residents, ensuring no one ever feels socially isolated. Whether someone wants to participate minimally or fully immerse themselves, my goal remains constant: fostering a sense of community and joy in every moment.
Join me as we embark on this journey of connection, laughter, and shared experiences. Together, let's create cherished memories that will illuminate the path ahead. Welcome to Iris Court, where every day holds the promise of something special.

Life at Iris Court Care Home

Iris Courts Gardening Club
Iris Courts Gardening Club is begging to become into a full bloom, with more and more residents falling in love with by watching the progress of our hard work blossom.
With an amazing donation of all planting tools & seeds to grow fruit and veg at the Iris Court Gardens via Ground Work East and their Home Grown Initiative which is designed to bring groups together to build social connections, learn valuable life skills, to boost wellbeing and of course learn about how we can be better connected to nature, whilst learn more about the big issues affecting our environment locally and globally together!.
Following this amazingly kind donation, some of our gardening club members took a swift visit to local Vanstones gardening centre, to stock up on essentials for our garden and their own gardening space with a popular choice of tomatoes, fuchsias and geraniums being purchased to decorate our wonderful gardens!.

Iris Court Celebrates St Patricks Day With Irish Dancers
Iris Court marked the Irish Holiday St Patricks with a day full of festivities, with the home adorned in shamrocks to mark the occasion. Residents and Staff Celebrated the occasion!.
The Celebration included a morning of listening to Irish music, whilst eagerly awaiting for the The Davey Academy of Irish Dance to arrive in the afternoon to get St Patricks day in full swing, with plenty of energy and laughter from having the academy and parents in for the afternoon!
with residents saying " It has been a fun day, and how lovely the academy was to have them in with us for the afternoon!" we finished off the afternoon with an Irish quiz whilst waiting for our traditional Irish Supper to be prepared, of potato and leek soup, Iris Stew and of course the option of a Guinness to finish the day!.

Owl Adventures at Iris Court
Residents at Iris Court were treated to some special and unexpected visitors when a number of owls from owl adventures came to visit us!.
Owl adventures aim to rescue injured birds from the wild or when they required care, so it was a very special treat for our residents who embraced their new feathered friends perching on their arm. with the visit being arranged as one of our regular animal therapy sessions, this one defiantly boosted the mood and grew our residents closer together sharing this moment.
With many of our residents saying " It was wonderful to welcome such beautiful birds, the visit provided something completely different and i thoroughly enjoyed the visit and welcome them back.

North Herts Bee Keepers Talk
Iris Court had the pleasure of welcoming in Gary from North Herts Bee Keepers Association into to join our dementia café and give us a talk on all things bee related, to different species, hives that you can find, different levels of Hobbyist and lastly some delicious honey made by Gary and his bees!.
The talk was fantastic to reminisce as some of of our residents had previously been members of the same association or kept bee's themselves and still remain friends with some friends in common, which was wonderful to catch up on!.
At Iris Court we are passionate about residents being able to continue enjoying lifelong hobbies, as well as exploring new adventures whilst living at our home.
