Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Employee of the Month - April

Employee of the Month - April

Congratulations to Top Parnell, our Receptionist at Hunters, who was named as the Employee of the Month for April. She always goes out of her way to help in many situations around the home that are not necessarily in her job description, and she always wears a smile and has a caring attitude.

Nocturnal Visitors

Nocturnal Visitors

Walks With Hawks visited Hunters again with a 'birds of prey' display. Residents loved making a fuss of them and having a real up close and hands-on experience.

Easter Bonnets

Residents at Hunters showed their creative side with an Easter bonnet making competition. Some colourful creations graced the lounge, with the winning entry receiving a box of chocolates.

Alpacas at Hunters

Alpacas at Hunters

We had two very special and popular guests recently at Hunters: Lily and Hetty from Cotswold Alpacas. They both took the time to patiently go around the home to the lounges and residents' rooms, even venturing into the lifts to brighten up everybody’s day.

Animal Mania

We welcomed Animal Mania to Hunters; the residents took part in an informative afternoon of interactive entertainment, with several cute and fluffy animals on display and several not-so-cute ones that were also on show. Animal Mania brought along a chinchilla, a baby rabbit, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, a corn snake and a sugar glider.
