Activities at Hollyfields Care Home
Our Activities programme is formulated using resident requests and feedback from resident meetings. Residents are involved in planning the programme with things they they would like to do throughout the year. There is a mixture of activities that take place including both group and 1-1 engagement. Residents at Hollyfields particularly enjoy movement to music activities enabling them to increase their level of physical abilities and have fun at the same time, whilst others enjoy musical singalongs and food based activities throughout the week.
We have a mini bus that enables us to reconnect our residents with their community in ways that suite themselves as individuals. This can be achieved by visiting local farms, Georgian towns, local attractions and even the local public house for lunch with friends. Hollyfields have a great relationship with their local community and have visits from local organisations such as The Wyre Community Land Trust and are currently undertaking a 12 week funded project from Arts Etc. Residents at Hollyfields enjoy Pet Therapy visits from their pet rabbit 'Thumper' and like to help clean and feed him daily. Relatives can be encouraged to join us for activities and again are very supportive with delivering theme days and fundraising events within the home.

Kaylee White
Hi, my name is Kaylee and I joined the Hollyfields care team in February 2021. I love getting to know our residents and I'm extremely passionate about their continued wellbeing and life enrichment through tailored activities. I became part of the Activities team to develop more in this area and expand the type of fulfilling activities and events we provide.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hollyfields Care Home

Trip to Farm Shop and Local Pub!
Regularly popping out for coffee, pub lunches, mini-bus trips, and other outings is an essential part of our weekly activity calendar. This morning, we visited Bells Farm Shop for refreshments and had a delightful encounter with some charming ladies at the pop-up café. We look forward to returning and participating in a craft session.
One of our residents, Martin, expressed a desire for a double whisky. However, upon arriving at our local establishment Brinton Arms, he opted for a half Shandy instead.

Yummy Pudding Club
We would like to thank Sarah and Thomas for their efforts in creating such wonderful desserts for our residents and their families to enjoy. This month's most popular dessert was the traditional trifle, which Julia remarked was reminiscent of her own recipe with fresh fruit at the base. For next month, our residents have requested a delicious rice pudding with the skin intact on top, we look forward to welcoming knew faces to our next event.

Trip to 'The Falconry Centre'
Today we visited The Falconry Centre, Hagley at Webbs. Our residents and staff enjoyed admiring the birds of prey, before heading to the café for a spot of lunch. It was really lovely to see so many smiles, the birds were truly magnificent sight to behold sweeping past on command.

Fitness Friday with Lucy
Today, our residents had the pleasure of participating in a fitness session led by Lucy. The session incorporated a variety of boxing and kicking exercises, followed by stretching using resistance bands. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the session, which provided a great workout and helped them stay active despite the warm weather.
We were delighted to see the residents laughing and smiling throughout the session, and we extend our gratitude to the families who attended.

Glam Sparrows Entertain
This afternoon we had the fantastic Glam Sparrows come perform for us. They had the residents engaged using their glamorous batons, we were shaking them all about! It has been a wonderful hour!

Brunch in Bewdley
We had a delightful alfresco lunch by the River Severn in Bewdley. The pleasant weather allowed us to reminisce about our previous visits to this location. Derek in particular enjoyed the opportunity to engage in friendly conversations with various individuals and their canine companions.
