Activities at Hempton Field Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Nina Mullerworth

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Nina and I have had the privilege of working at Hempton Field in my role as Activities Coordinator for over 15 years and I am looking forward to many more! I have enjoyed continually developing in the role with a variety of training courses, including a Level 2 NAPA and Aromatherapy Massage.

I love interacting with the residents and organising a varied programme of activities with a person-centred approach based on Barchester's Life Enrichment Programme of enhancing the wellbeing of mind, body and soul.  This includes ensuring residents can continue to enjoy hobbies, life experiences and keep active through exercise and music.  We are involved with local clubs and welcome in members of the community as well as a variety of outings in the minibus - these are always very popular!

Greek Independents Day

Hempton Field went all out to celebrate 'Greek Independents Day' on 25th March 2021.

We enjoyed a full day of everything Greek! At lunch, whilst enjoying relaxing traditional music, we enjoyed stuffed vine leaves and moussaka. The staff and residents then attempted some Greek dancing... everyone especially enjoyed the Zorba dance!

Chef excelled in creating some amazing kebabs for supper, served with a Greek salad. The food, music and decorations made us all feel happy and our residents just loved reminiscing about their holidays to the beautiful Greek islands.

Sports Day Fun

Roll on the Olympics! #RedNoseDay at Hempton Field was a fun with a sports day themed party, full of games including armchair footie and lounge volley ball.

Our residents relaxed the afternoon away with a well-deserved pot of tea and yummy strawberry cream cupcakes.

St Patrick's Day

“May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you” - Irish Proverb

Today our residents enjoyed all things Irish! We had a proper giggle, dressing up ‘particularly laughing at Nina our activities lead in her outfit’. It was so good, some of our ladies couldn't wait to try it for themselves! We enjoyed the 'craic' with an Irish inspired quiz, a jig to Irish music and plenty of traditional Irish food.

Congratulations on 20-years Long Service

This week our general manager, Sharon had the privilege of presenting two members of our care team with their prestigious Long Service Awards in celebration of working at Barchester Healthcare for 20 years each.

Both local Chinnor ladies; Sally Boult, has worked at Hempton Field for the last 20 years and loves every minute of it. Sally has progressed in the home from Carer to Senior Carer and onto Infection Control Ambassador for the home. Sally was an integral part of our success in our recent infection control inspection by CQC.

Tracy Dodds, started as a Bank employee to be able to work around her young children and family. Initially unsure a career in care was right for her, Tracy soon became part of the Hempton Field family as she developed lasting friendships with our residents, and her colleagues. She loves her job and is a highly valued member of the team.

“We’re delighted to be celebrating a cumulative 40 years of loyal service with these two amazing ladies. They have demonstrated their dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year.”  Congratulations ladies!

Gift of Kindness and Thanks

It is always a pleasure to receive recognition of quality 'care' and so uplifting for the whole team. This week we received a beautiful hamper of goodies from a recent respite resident; the wonderful Beryl Taylor.

THANK YOU so much Beryl, we look forward to seeing you at Hempton Field again, whenever you fancy.
