Harton Grange Care Home in South Shields
Set in its own grounds, Harton Grange is a purpose-built residential care home in South Shields offering personal care to older individuals. The home is an integral part of the local community of South Shields. At Harton Grange, we provide a range of accommodation and services for older people in need of support, from respite care to 24-hour residential care.
Dementia Care
We also provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.
The home offers a wide variety of activities including group and one-to-one activities. These are linked to care plans drawn up with the individual concerned or their families and friends.
The best way to find out about a home is to come along and see it for yourself. We welcome all visitors and callers.

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.

Types of care
The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.
