Activities at Glenroyd Care Home

Here at the Glenroyd our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. Everyone is different and gets pleasure from different things and here at Glenroyd we understand that and therefore try to provide a programme of activity that is tailored to individuals needs. We do this by gathering information and life history work and using that information to feed into our activities schedule. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Agata Prendota

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Agata Prendota and I am the activities coordinator here at Glenroyd. I have worked at Glenroyd since 2014 and in April 2022 transferred to activities. I developed a strong relationship with many of our residents and their families. This has helped me to create a tailored activities program focused on maximizing everyone’s wellbeing, independence, and social engagement.

It is my goal to create a stimulating environment that enables to provide imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. My infectious enthusiasm and creative approach are the key to inspire our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community.

I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in daily activities.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning was very successful and we managed to raise £110. Everyone had a great time!

Long Service Award

Lyndsey Face has been working for Barchester for 20 years, so we arranged a surprise party to recognise all of Lyndsey’s hard work. Her parents even joined us as we presented her with a bunch of flowers, some vouchers, a Barchester badge and a special card from everyone here at Glenroyd.

Our Divisional Winner

Congratulations to Ashleigh Slack, who has been named as a divisional winner in the 'Home Administration Champion' category in the 2017 Barchester Care Awards.

Employees of the Month - April

Congratulations to Kitchen Assistant, Geraldo Tinoy, and Activities Coordinator, Steph Jones, for both winning April's Employee of the Month award.

Preparing for Easter

Residents of Glenroyd have been very busy getting ready for Easter, preparing their Easter bonnets for the competition.

Employee of the Month - March

We couldn’t pick just one Employee of the Month for March, so we opted for two.

Kay received exceptional feedback from the NHS when assisting with a telephone triage assessment.

Tiffiny received votes from residents’ family members and her care was spoken of very highly.

Our General Manager agreed that both of these employees should be recognised for the feedback we received.

We additionally had a further 3 staff members who were runners up; each received a card and a box of chocolates for their contribution to quality within Glenroyd.
