Sutton Grange Care Home in Southport

This exceptional care home in Southport has been specifically designed to provide high-quality residential, nursing and respite care to the elderly, including those individuals living with dementia including Alzheimer's disease.

Nursing and residential care

Our residential care home provides first-class residential and nursing care in a warm, homely and friendly environment. Our team of qualified and dedicated staff focus on the individual needs of residents and are committed to providing professional and respectful care with the resident at the heart of everything they do.

Dementia care

The home has a dedicated area which we call our Memory Lane Community. This provides high-quality nursing care for people with dementia. Within our community, memory boxes with small reminders and items such as photographs are used to help each person reminisce. Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks and pleasures. Essential to our homely feel is the enhanced relationship of trust we build with family, friends and residents.

Our luxurious facilities combined with highly trained staff ensures each and every individual is given superior attention. Our 24-hour care is provided in a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic approaches. Together with our lively social calendar, this helps to stimulate our people’s minds, and empower them to approach their future in a positive way.

Life at Sutton Grange Care Home

Ensuring that we deliver high quality care to those we support isn’t our only priority here – we also want to offer excitement and, most importantly, to ensure that everyone feels at home. That is why we employ trained staff who are committed to delivering a stimulating activities programme and nutritious cuisine, which are supplemented by services and facilities that are designed to make life here as pleasant as possible.

Bennett Mott

General Manager

Welcome to Sutton Grange's website; my name is Bennett and I am the General Manager here at the home.

I have worked as a Nurse/Manager in care services since I first qualified. I have a great belief in a strong infrastructure of clinical decision-making that supports, protects and enables people to live the life they choose to its fullest extent. Our job is to minimise all that could hinder a full life and to maximise independence, spirit and the uniqueness of everyone who chooses our care home.

My previous roles as a Gold Standard Trainer, Nurse Manager, Advocate and Safe Guarding Lead have given me a network of contacts and professional links that help me understand how to coordinate a multidisciplinary support team and to ensure everyone has what they need at the time they need it.

The move into a more structured care environment is always difficult for both residents and their loved ones; and I believe that, to make this transition as easy as possible, we need to ensure that they retain as much control as possible during this process.

Barchester has shown me that it is determined to improve the experience of living in a care environment. Their commitment shines in the building of Sutton Grange and I feel privileged to have been asked to shape its future. I am looking forward to building on achievements and helping to create a strong, vibrant and inclusive home that is seen as a community asset and has a reputation for clinical excellence. I want Sutton Grange to be the location other professionals contact to learn from.

I grew up listening to stories at my grandmothers knee; life hasn’t shown me anything more interesting since.
