"I have been a resident at this home since January 2015. During that time I have settled down, as well as can be expected and have been cared for in a sympathetic and professional manner. In general, the menu and food quality have been good and whilst I cannot say it is just like home, nevertheless I do not think that under the circumstances I could not have chosen a better situation.
However, for some time, there is one area which has been causing me concern and that is in the position of general manager. Since my arrival, which is less than 2 years ago, we have had 2 so called permanent managers and at least 4 to 5 temporary ones, a situation I would suggest, that does not ensure the consistent and efficient running of the home. I am somewhat surprised therefore that a large and experienced company would allow this situation to develop, and in particular, at a home which has only recently been opened.
As a senior manager in industry for many years, I am well aware of the importance of having an experienced manager in charge, either of a department or a company. Particularly for the staff involved who require a stable and worry-free environment in which to work.
At a rough guess, I would suggest that over the past year at least 30% to 40% of the management work has been carried out by the present under management staff who, in my opinion, have coped with a difficult situation in an efficient manner, and who in my opinion, should be considered if a further vacancy arises here.
I must apologise for taking up your time with this "problem" but feel that for my own peace of mind, at least, it was important that one resident at this home should make you aware of his feelings in this matter."
