Activities at Fountains Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Louise Crooks
Hello I am Louise, my first role with Barchester was caring for our residents. Previously I worked in an early years environment for 17 years where I organised activities and events. I am thrilled to now be Activities Lead and being able to continue enriching the life’s of our lovely residents here at Fountains.

Life at Fountains Care Home
lovely Visit from 'Morris Minors' school club
We had the pleasure of the Morris Minors afternoon school club coming to join us. Together with our residents they planted sunflowers seeds & chatted about new flowers. This was followed by our lovely young friends enjoying a tea time experience.
Gentleman’s Bowls
What a sunny afternoon for our gentleman to get together and have a game of crazy bowls. The Gentlemen had asked for a game of bowls in the garden area. They kept score, talked about their own experience’s and showed real good sportsmanship supporting and engaging with all throughout the matches.
Trip to Jephson gardens
We had organised a trip out to the Victorian gardens in Leamington Spa. Our residents, had made this a request at their previous residents meeting. We were blessed with fabulous weather, and the views in which we were able to see were amazing. This park held lots of history for us to learn from, interesting sculptures, blooming flower beds and explored the sensory garden. Our residents, had an amazing time and have requested another summer visit.
National biscuit day
Biscuits… they are indeed a favourite comfort to our residents here at Fountains. Throughout the day we had a wide selection of traditional biscuits and newer biscuits. Our residents enjoyed trying newer biscuits such as Oreos. In the afternoon we had one of our Kitchen Assistance carry out a demonstration on how to make raison & oat cookies. We also had the debate of what we thought a Jaffa cake was… biscuit or cake? One resident, asked Alexa to get the answer which we now know is cake.
Let's get physical!
What a fantastic way to spend our afternoon with non other than Lisa Bee! Residents and family really got into the swing of things, with plenty of singing & creative movements. We can not wait till next time.
Celebrating the King's Coronation
Resident’s at Fountains had been planning for the big event, using the iPad to find out information regarding recipes, music play lists and getting busy by making different decorations. When residents shown a selection of cakes they had a vote in which one our head chef would create for them all.
We had family and friends come and join us with our celebrations. Everyone was happy to listen and dance to the live singer. It’s always a pleasure to have everyone together.
