Activities at Fountains Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Louise Crooks

Life at Fountains Care Home
Live singer Vee
A fantastic afternoon, with the wonderful Vee. It was such a pleasure to welcome Vee back to perform for us again, Vee, was requested back by our residents in their monthly meeting. Our residents and family enjoyed hearing Vee share her talent by playing her wooden instruments and singing classic from the 1960’s. The whole afternoon, there were toes tapping and hands clapping along to the music. “I always enjoying having a live singer and someone who can play musical instruments, it takes me back to when I used to go out with friends” said Mary
Visiting Sheldon Country Farm
A perfect way to spend an afternoon out and about at our local country farm. With the sun shining bright for us, we were able to meet and greet the different Animals. Frankie the noisy turkey was defiantly a character, and one in which our residents enjoyed meeting and talking about. Whilst walking around the farm, we had Matthew one of the volunteers come and tell us more about the animals who had been rescued, and how the farm is supported by Birmingham City Council. Of course the old farm house (now café) with its garden and beautiful flower beds in full bloom was a sight for all to explore, whilst we enjoyed our refreshments before returning home.
Semi-finals – England vs Australia
What a fabulous way to start our mid-week off, with a great game of football. Our residents and their families, came along to cheer on the lioness’s.
With our home decorated, sparkling refreshments and homemade cakes ready for the taking. Betty and her daughter in law, supporting England wearing their England tops and flags waving around. “Such good fun and happy to see how far women’s football has come since the beginning.” Said Betty.
Enjoyable Trip to Hatton Locks
What a beautiful morning we had exploring Hatton locks. It is such a peaceful location to watch colourful narrowboats as they move through. We had the chance to talk with a local canal expert who shared some of the canals history with us. Of course we stopped by the local cafe for refreshments before heading home
High Tea a Success
What a super afternoon at our High Tea event. Residents & guests enjoyed glasses of Prosecco, teas & coffees & a wonderful selection of sandwiches, cakes & scones all home-made by our fabulous Chef, Maria & dining team. We are thrilled so many people came to join us.
