Activities at Emily Jackson House Care Home

Our activities team continues to offer a wide range of activities to both mentally and physically stimulate our residents. Our activities include one to one shopping, group outings in our minibus, and regularly attending our local church and bowling club. We also enjoy the entertainment from the musicians who come and visit us as well as our PAT dog. We have a range of activities so residents with all abilities and talents can join in activities and social gatherings. We encourage families and volunteers to share the joy with us by taking part in our social events as well.

Baking Cupcakes

We are so happy we have a Head Chef who is always helping us with baking activities. We baked cupcakes and we also decorated them. Baking is very popular in our home; everyone likes to participate in this activity.

Yoga in the Sun

We are enjoying the lovely hot weather here at Emily Jackson.

Chinese New Year

We celebrated Chinese New Year with a lovely planned meal, virtual tour and lanterns. The residents loved it!

Baking Day

We made Rocky Roads with the residents and they enjoyed it tremendously.

Vaccination Day

Residents and staff at Emily Jackson House were delighted when their GP surgery came to the home to administer the Coronavirus vaccine.

We’ve had a year like no other and the vaccine feels like the light at the end of the tunnel. Our teams have been magnificent in how they have risen to every challenge during this pandemic and we are proud to play our part in this next phase to ensure the most vulnerable are protected. This has lifted everyone’s spirits after what has been a very challenging year for everyone.

Christmas Celebration

Staff at Emily Jackson House made Christmas extra special for everyone and celebrated Christmas in the most unique way possible, with a decorated cart delivering residents gifts, handed out by staff member, Odette, who acted as 'Santa'.

Heart-warming music was played in the background to the residents’ excitement and delight. Some were very emotional and could not believe that, despite the hardships, during this pandemic, the staff went above and beyond making the celebration extra special for everyone.

To top this off, staff had done a great dance performance in front of the surprised residents to the steps and tune of the song, Jerusalema, currently viral on social media platforms all over the world.
