Activities at Emily Jackson House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team continues to offer a wide range of activities to both mentally and physically stimulate our residents. Our activities include one to one shopping, group outings in our minibus, and regularly attending our local church and bowling club. We also enjoy the entertainment from the musicians who come and visit us as well as our PAT dog. We have a range of activities so residents with all abilities and talents can join in activities and social gatherings. We encourage families and volunteers to share the joy with us by taking part in our social events as well.

Life at Emily Jackson House Care Home

Christmas Lights Switch On
We are looking and feeling very festive at Emily Jackson House.
Thank you to the Mayor of Sevenoaks for coming to our Christmas light switch on recently.
We really appreciate you taking the time to come. We enjoyed our mince pies and hot chocolate in the warmth of the home.

Macmillan Coffee morning
We recently joined in with the big Macmillan coffee morning with St Lukes church.
We decided to join forces with St. Luke’s to support this charity. We all know someone that has been affected by this disease and how it touches our hearts.
On behalf of us and St. Luke’s church would like to thank all that came this morning and supported in donating to this amazing charity.
We have raised £113.10!

Art exhibition
We were delighted to present a retrospective art exhibition for local artist John Lucas. Sadly, John passed away during the preparations of this exhibition but he would be happy to know it is still going ahead.
John regularly took part in the South East Open Art Studios, showing his work in a shared studio space in Brasted, Kent.
His family had kindly donated numerous paintings and sketches for the exhibition.
We thank all that attended our art exhibition last night in memory of artist and resident, John Lucas.
A generous amount was raised from the sale of his artwork with the money going to the residents fund as per John’s wishes.

Car Show
What a fabulous morning we had on Saturday for our first car show!
We had a really good turnout despite the weather. Thanks to Lottie Dee and her team for organising the cars. We had Jaguars, a couple of old MG’s, VXR’s and an Audi.
We even had a red Ferrari, courtesy of the Ferrari garage in Sevenoaks.
Thank you for bringing the car, you made some people very happy.
We were very proud that the Mayor of Sevenoaks took the time to share the morning with us.
Lastly thank you to all that came and for supporting our local charity West Kent Mind.
We raised an amazing £166.84!

Dog Show!
The rain didn’t stop our dog show here at Emily Jackson House, we still had lots of fun!
The dogs were fantastic and very well behaved.
The residents enjoyed meeting and watching the dogs perform, and resident’s families were invited to bring their pups along to compete in all kinds of fun categories. Some of the categories were: Waggiest Tail, Cutest Pooch, Most Obedient – timed sit to name but a few.
Thank you to all that joined us and made it a great day, we hope there's another one soon!

Mary Retires After 30 Years Service
It was a day of mixed emotions here at Emily Jackson care home in Sevenoaks as we said goodbye and happy retirement to our senior carer Mary.
Mary started work at Emily Jackson in 1994 giving the home and residents 30 years of devoted and caring service, tears were interrupted by laughter and cheers as we recalled the past with humour and fondness, our Lead Nurse presented Mary with flowers, Prosecco, a crystal vase and vouchers which she will enjoy spending.
It is now time to enjoy family and grandchildren. You will be missed Mary don't be a stranger.
