Activities at Edingley Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Pampering Session

Today our residents have enjoyed a selection of beauty and pampering sessions within the home.

Relaxing music sets an ambient scene during each session, as Residents sit to enjoy an afternoon of pampering which leaves them feeling relaxed and confident each time.

Wonderful conversation was had by all as Residents shared their memories of spa days they enjoyed whilst growing up, discussing how much their moods are lifted during pamper sessions like this, with treatments including hand massages and nail therapy.

Scarecrow Making

May we introduce you to Mrs Stuffy. She sits proudly by the entrance to Edingley Lodge, where she watches the world go by.

It is time for and we wanted to be part of our community and the festivities by making a scarecrow.

We have had so much fun making the scarecrow in lounge, using things we could find easily in and around the home. We hope she enjoys sitting in the last late summer sunshine this weekend.

A delightful trip to the local Garden Centre.

Our residents had a delightful trip to the local Garden Centre.

Not only did they indulge in the most scrumptious coffee and cake, but they also got a sneak peek at the early Christmas preparations at the garden centre. Yes, you read that right – the festive spirit is already in the air at local garden centre !

Seeing the twinkling lights and beautiful Christmas displays left us all feeling a little more festive and ready for the season of joy. How about you? Is anyone else already feeling the Christmas spirit?

We'd love to hear your early Christmas plans or any memories you have of Brookfields Garden Centre. Share them below!

Thank you to the team for their hospitality and for getting us all excited for the most wonderful time of the year.

Stay merry and bright, everyone!

Sing along and Baking session

Residents at Edingley Lodge love singing and dancing together so this week we thought it would be fun to do some karaoke. Residents also enjoyed in wearing some funny hairstyles.

The activities team and staff at Edingley Lodge organised for the karaoke machine to have all our favourite songs on so we could sing from the bottom of our lungs to the tunes we know and love!

The room fills with laughter and smiles when we are all singing together; it’s a real highlight of the week. Residents Joan sang a duet for us which was brilliant, we really have some very talented residents.

Resident also joined for the weekly baking session this morning we baked some cupcakes.

Autumn crafts at Edingley Lodge

As we’ve seen a change in the weather we’ve felt autumnal arts and crafts were on the cards!

Residents used leaves that we’d collected outside to draw round and cut out leaf shapes to create some autumn bunting. We chose lots of different coloured card to create the look!
