Activities at Edingley Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

International Men's Day
Today, we celebrated International Men's Day in style. The day is used to highlight positive role models and raise awareness of men's well-being.
We organised a special Gentlemen's Club for our male residents, where they enjoyed classic pub snacks, crisps, beers and had a good old game of dominoes whilst others took part in a pub themed quiz, even some of our ladies got involved.
Why not!
This afternoon, we had a reminiscence session where we discussed male role models in our residents' lives and the important role of fathers, grandfathers, husbands and sons.
It was a great day, enjoyed by all.

World Children's Day
Staff and residents at Edingley Lodge care home had a wonderful time reminiscing about their childhoods on World Children’s Day, which took place on November 20.
The staff and residents got into the spirit of the day receiving visits from their grandchildren or from a local school, enjoying childhood sweets and treats, remembering how their childhoods differ from their grandchildren’s today, listening to staff tell stories about their childhoods spent in other countries. Residents did a story telling session with the children’s who came in. They loved remembering all the positives from times gone by, thinking about how much things have changed and learning about each other’s experiences.
Celebrated annually on November 20, World Children’s Day is supported by UNICEF and aims to help save children’s lives and defend their rights in 190 countries around the world.
