Activities at Cumberland Grange Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Gosia Maliga
I have been in the care sector since 2008, and I also have a degree in teaching. I am here to arrange and run a varied range of activities for our residents to take part in, keep them entertained and enrich their lives. From flower arranging, quizzes, arts and crafts to movies in the cinema, I try to make sure there is something for everyone here to take part in, and tailor events to suit each resident.

Sunflower Competition
Cumberland Grange Gardening Club.
Today some of our residents were busy planting a variety of herbs and sunflowers ? we have created a lovely space on our second floor terrace which has become out plant nursery.
The sunflower growing competition is ON.
Taste of India
Thank you to John, the amazing Community Champion at Tesco for another fantastic Themed Eats and Wine tasting session.
This time we had a taste of India ?? with lots of different foods and dips.
John gave a brilliant talk on all of the different foods and spoke about the spices used. Our residents had a wonderful afternoon and we already can’t wait for next time!
Happy St. Patrick's Day
With thanks to Pete the Poet for joining us today for a fantastic Creative Therapy Session.
Our residents picked up the paintbrushes before working together to write a beautiful St Patrick’s Day poem.
We must also give credit to the amazing Baileys Irish Whiskey Cheesecake that our incredible chef made for lunch time dessert today, it was delicious!
Enjoying the sunshine in our beautiful garden
Earlier on this week our residents enjoyed a cup of tea in the garden with the warm sun beaming down. It was just lovely.
Who else is excited for the warmer, sunny weather?
We are so lucky to have a beautifully laid out garden here at Cumberland Grange.
International Women's Day
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY
We have such amazing women here at Cumberland Grange.
Not only today, but everyday we feel so incredibly grateful for these ladies and all they have done and achieved. Their stories and accomplishments are so heartwarming and inspiring.
Mini Bus Trips!
Yesterday we visited Greendale Farm Shop with our residents! We got the best milkshakes and had a lovely refreshing walk around outside.
You can always be sure to have lots of belly laughs with Dennis around. Chocolate wafers are the new cigars!
