Meet the Cumberland Grange Care Home Team

Hello, my name is Kyley and I am the Deputy Manager here at Cumberland Grange. 

I am incredibly passionate about my role in supporting all of our residents, ensuring they are all well cared for, happy, having fun and thriving. We have a fantastic team of carers and support staff and we are all here to make Cumberland Grange the best care home.

Hi, I'm Carolyn the Community Lead for our Memory Lane Community here at Cumberland Grange. 

I joined the team in 2023 as a Care Assistant and since then I have been promoted to Senior Care Assistant and now Community Lead. I absolutely love my job and I aim to deliver the very best person centred care to everyone living with us.

Being with our residents is such a joy and an honour, as I learn all about their lives and the stories they have to share with us all, which are incredible.

Hello, my name is Gemma and I am the Home Administrator for Cumberland Grange. 

I previously worked in another Barchester home for 3 years as an Admin Assistant, as well as previous experience of caring in the community. I really support and enforce everything that Barchester stands for, as I feel enrichment is so important in everyone’s lives. 

Outside of Barchester, I have a love for baking and enjoy travelling to lots of different places. 

I am excited to get to know everyone at Cumberland Grange and be a friendly face for residents and family members. Feel free to pop in and say hello, there will be cake and coffee too!

Hi, I'm Chris the Head Chef here at Cumberland Grange.

I have a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, having previously worked in some of Devon's most established restaurants and gastro pubs. My passion is using locally sourced food, creating daily menus that reflect the great variety of seasonal produce available. Overseeing the kitchen I ensure that every meal prepared by my team is always freshly home cooked, served and presented with care.

I really enjoy getting to know all of our new residents, making sure that I understand their likes, dislikes and preferences and aiming to incorporate all of these into our menu selections. Along with my kitchen team, we strive to create a menu that delivers the home from home dining experience that everyone living with us truly enjoys.

Outside of work, my passion for cooking continues and I enjoy experimenting with new flavours and recipes for my smoker and BBQ and absolutely love all things baking.

Hi my name is Matt and I am the Head Housekeeper here at Cumberland Grange. I come from an experienced back ground previously working as a Housekeeper in 5* Hotels. I love working with people and so making the move into the care sector with my experience is something that I am so pleased I did. Our residents are brilliant and make my job fun. 

Hello, I’m Natalie and I one of the Admin Assistants/Receptionists here at Cumberland Grange.

I joined the team in June 2023 and I absolutely love working here.  The favourite part of my job has to be chatting with the residents, they make me laugh and smile every day.

Hello there, I’m Avril, one of the Resident Ambassadors here at Cumberland Grange. Welcome to our home!

I came to Cumberland Grange in August 2022 after relocating from another care home just outside of London. My sister-in-law who lives in Exeter told me about Cumberland Grange, and lo and

behold, I arrived here and felt very lucky to call this my new home. At this time, it hadn’t been open long and I was welcomed with opened arms and settled very quickly. 

This is no ordinary care home here at Cumberland, we have a beautiful home, the team is a happy team, and us residents are a great bunch.

Hi there, my name is Stefan and I am a Senior Carer here at Cumberland Grange. I joined the team in 2024 and have since built great relationships with our residents, families and my colleagues. I have over 8 years worth of experience in the care industry and always feel very grateful to do a job that I love very much. I am always happy to help so if you are visiting and you need anything, please just let me know.

Hi, I’m Aleksandra, and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Cumberland Grange. I’ve been working in care since 2017, and from day one, it became a true passion of mine. Over the years, I’ve worked in many different care homes, always striving to provide the best support possible. However, I never felt happy with the provided care.

I joined Cumberland Grange in 2024, and for the first time, I feel truly fulfilled. It’s a place where love, compassion, and respect are at the heart of everything we do. Being part of a team that genuinely cares for its residents makes all the difference, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

Hello I'm Lorna and I've been working in the care sector since 2009 and this is quite simply the best job I've ever had! My career began in the community care sector, supporting people living in their own homes across the mid and east Devon area, first as a carer and then progressing to the role of Care Manager, focusing on producing person centred care plans for new service users.

My great passion however is to meet and support people and I just love the close personal connections that my role allows me to build with all of our residents. For me, everyone here is just like family and I really value these special relationships that I continue to build with everyone living here on a daily basis.

Hi, my name is Amie and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange.

I proudly joined the team at the beginning of 2024 and thoroughly enjoy my job caring for our residents. I have been working in the care industry for over 13 years now and I take huge pride in what I do. As well as being here for our residents, I am also here for our family members, too.

Hi my name is Evie and I’m a care assistant here at Cumberland Grange. I feel very grateful to work in such a lovely home with the most amazing colleagues and residents. I love my job and being able to spend my days taking care of our residents is so rewarding and fulfilling. I always look forward to meeting new residents!

Hello, my name is Cazumi, and I am a Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange.

I currently work as a bank as I also attend university alongside my work. I have worked in care before, and I had to pause working because of relocating. At the start of my term, I felt like a part of me was missing, which was taking care of residents, spending time with them, laughing and smiling with them. I recently joined the team, and it has been amazing and fulfilling. Our residents are so wonderful, and they always have a story to share.

I am so grateful to do a job that I enjoy and look forward to each day.

Hi, my name is Faith and I am a Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange. My favourite part of my job is supporting our residents. They are all so wonderful and I love to hear all about their stories and life experiences. I am always happy to help.

To be in a job you love you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I have experience of working with dementia patients and the elderly of 12 years. I love that I can make a difference to someone’s day no matter how big or small it may be.

Hello, my name is Lizzie and I am a Hostess here at Cumberland Grange. I have over 10 years’ worth of experience in the hospitality industry and really do love what I do. I have built great relationships with our residents and love listening to all of their stories.  

Hi, I'm Chris, Chef at Cumberland Grange.

I’ve over 25-year experience in the hospitality sector and have worked in a variety of establishments - from boats to bistros.

Working at Cumberland Grange is a real change in direction for me and that’s what I really enjoy about being here, as there is a lot of daily interaction with our residents and they make us all feel so greatly appreciated. I enjoy getting to know all of our residents and their individual dietary needs so that I can produce a personalised dining experience for each of them.

Prior to starting work in the hospitality sector, I completed a degree in Fine Art, something which I still enjoy practicing today and outside of work I have a vibrant mixed media art practice.

Hi there, I'm Sarah and I am part of the housekeeping team here at Cumberland Grange, and I really enjoy it. I love talking to the residents everyday and getting to know them. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly, which made it so easy to fit in straight away when I first started.  It's such a lovely place to work with a fantastic atmosphere, the day just goes by so fast.

Hello, my name is Romy and I am the Community Lead for the Ground Floor Community here at Cumberland Grange. I have recently been promoted from Senior Carer and I am so honoured to do such an important and fulfilling job. Our residents are so wonderful and I feel very lucky to care for them. I have many years’ worth of experience in the care industry and could not think of a more rewarding career.

Hi, my name is Mica and I am the Home Services Advisor here at Cumberland Grange. My role is to support clients and their loved ones who are looking to make the move into care. It can be a daunting process for many people, but I want to change that. I will do my absolute best to make the journey and process as stress free and comfortable as possible.

I am incredibly passionate about enriching the lives of our residents and ensuring that they feel a part of our local community. So when I’m not in the home, I will be out and about in the community making some great connections with various charities and organisations.

I am here if you have any questions at all, and if you would like to come in and have a look around our beautiful home, I would love to show you around. We have great coffee and cake, too!

Hello, my name is Gosia and I am the Activities Co-Ordinator here at Cumberland Grange.

I have been in the care sector since 2008, and I also have a degree in teaching. I am here to arrange and run a varied Life Enrichment Programme which is full of fun activities for our residents to take part in. We do lots of different activities here which change on a regular basis, including weekly trips out in our mini bus, flower arranging, live musical performances, arts and crafts, cheese and wine nights and so much more. We also have groups which happen every week, mostly lead by our residents, including Poetry Club, Gardening Club, Politics and Pastries, Cumberland Grange Choir and Knit and Natter.

We have monthly resident meetings where we discuss life at Cumberland Grange. We talk about the activities that we currently run, including activities that our residents would like us to incorporate into the planner. 

Making wishes come true is also something that we love to do. So, if our resident has a wish, together we try our best to make that happen, because life at Cumberland is about having fun and making even more special memories.

Hi, I'm Bob and I have been working for Barchester for over 6 years in the maintenance department. I have worked in maintenance on and off for around 15 years and have a background in carpentry and sound engineering. Aside from dealing with the maintenance at Cumberland Grange, I also enjoy taking our residents out on the mini bus for trips out.

In my spare time I enjoy walking and cycling, and I’m also currently learning to play the guitar.

I am a very bubbly and friendly person who loves to help others. I have worked with animals, children, and special needs and, since 2019, I've worked in the care home sector. I am very happy to be the Receptionist here at Cumberland Grange, and look forward to greeting you with a smile.

I am always here to support new residents who join us and I am always happy to speak with prospective residents and families when they are here visiting.

As a Senior Care Assistant, with 6 years working experience, I bring years of hands-on experience in providing personal care, emotional support, and advocacy for residents in both residential and nursing home settings. Known for my patience, reliability, and ability to build strong, trusting relationships, I take pride in creating a safe, nurturing environment where each individual feels valued and heard. My role is not just about assisting with daily needs—it’s about honouring lives, preserving independence, and making a meaningful difference every single day.

Being able to spend my days taking care of our residents is so rewarding and fulfilling. No two days are ever them same but one thing that always remains the same is how wonderful our residents are. Hi, my name is Jasmine and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange. I first joined Cumberland Grange as a Care assistant, but I continued to learn, train and develop my skills and knowledge, and as a result have since been promoted to a Senior Carer. I have worked in care for over 3 years now and really love what I do. I am based on Memory Lane, taking care of our residents living with dementia which I am so passionate about. Our residents are the heart of our home and I take great pride in supporting them.

I have worked at Cumberland Grange since 2023 and feel so lucky to work in such a wonderful home with the most amazing residents and great colleagues. Our residents are my number one priority so my days are spent ensuring they have everything that they need and making sure that they are happy. Hello, my name is Katherine. I work part-time here at Cumberland Grange, as a care assistant.
I started my career in care back in 2015, where I was a nursing auxiliary in the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. It was a very rewarding experience and I enjoyed it a lot. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to start university to become a registered nurse. I joined Barchester June 2023 during a break of my nursing studies. I really enjoy it here at Cumberland Grange. I often go out on the mini bus with the activity ladies and go shopping with the residents to get their favourite snacks or go out to a community coffee morning. 

I am still on that nursing degree journey. I shall be returning back in September 2024 to finally qualify which I'm proud of myself. I'll be on a bank contract so you may see me about when I'm on shift.

I really enjoy care work, and I really enjoy bringing a smile to residences faces. See you around.

I joined the team at Cumberland back in 2022 and then spent a small amount of time at one of our sister homes, before returning back to my wonderful Cumberland Grange family at the beginning of 2024.

Hi, my name is Kirsty and I have recently started as the activities assistant at Cumberland Grange.

I have been working in the care sector for the last 2 years and prior to that I was working in customer service at BT for 34 years.

I have relished the change in career and have found working in the care sector very rewarding. I’m looking forward to spending time with the residents at Cumberland Grange, getting to know them, brightening their days with great activities and fulfilling any wishes they may have.

Outside of work I enjoy cooking, gardening, travelling, and walks with my Poochon, Cooper.

Hi I'm Ange and I'm a member of the kitchen team.

I'm here to assist Head Chef Chris and his team in ensuring that our residents have a fantastic dining experience filled with great seasonal variety and choice. Part of my daily role is to bake home made cakes and treats for our residents which is my real passion and I really put all of my creativity, heart and soul into this - when you love doing something its such a pleasure!

Hi, my name is Nicola and I have recently started as a Housekeeper at Cumberland Grange.
