This carefully selected team will be in place to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet the General Manager, John Bayliss, who can tell you more about what life will be like at Cumberland Grange:
Hi, my name is John Bayliss and I am the General Manager here at Cumberland Grange. Welcome to our website!
My working career started in Birmingham, where I was a trainee company accountant. I then moved down to Cormwall in the eighties and became interested in elderly care, starting out as a registered manager of a medium sized nursing home. Since then, my career has stayed mainly around the care home sector, with jobs ranging from the management of small EMI homes, large nursing homes, through to the role of a Group Operations Manager for a small provider. I also spent a short time out helping my wife run a medium sized convenience store and Post Office as the Postmaster. However, my passion has always been centred around providing high standards of care to older people.
I am looking forward to the opportunity of meeting new people in an environment which is familiar to me and to making a positive impact and difference to those residents, staff and relatives who I come in contact with.
