Activities at Cookridge Court Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

My name is Laura and I am the Head Activities Coordinator here at Cookridge Court. I have worked in care since 2014 and get so much satisfaction out of knowing I have made a difference to people’s days and have filled the home with a sense of community and happiness. We have created a wonderful culture within our home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active and ensure we all know each residents' preferences so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. The strong relationships we build with our residents, their families and friends is essential to our homely feel.

Life at Cookridge Court Care Home
Birthday celebrations
Everyone at Cookridge Court would like to wish our wonderful Head housekeeper, Paula a massive Happy 30th Birthday.
It’s been a lovely afternoon celebrating Paula’s special day with staff and residents. Good times and more great memories have been made today. We don’t do birthdays in half, that’s for sure!
Nescafe virtual experience
We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience. We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.
To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.
Love is in the air at Cookridge Court
Today our home was filled with flowers, cards and decorations as we celebrated the day of love in style.
Our Residents had the opportunity to taste delicious themed sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our talented head chef, whilst listening to all-time favourite love songs.

Shake, Rattle & Roll at Cookridge Court
Sometimes all you need to do is Shake, rattle and roll…
The residents at Cookridge Court are thoroughly enjoying the Oomph Wellness especially Oomph active. These sessions really help our residents build relationships with one another, increase their mobility and enhance mental stimulation. But most importantly create fun, laughter and memories.
Virtual cookery demonstration
We had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Valentine’s-inspired virtual cookery demonstration. Chef Alex created some delicious Valentine’s Day-inspired vegetarian desserts, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.
First, our residents sampled a wonderful sticky toffee pudding, which was absolutely heavenly. Then they tried hazelnut truffles which were a huge hit and finally they were treated to a chocolate orange cake which everyone adored.
Cookridge Court celebrates Chinese New Year
We welcomed in the Year of the Tiger with a day of celebrations and activities.
The Chinese New Year is China’s most important festival that celebrated the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar calendar.
Inspired by Chinese culture and traditions, our residents enjoyed a creative session with Chinese New Year DIY dragons and made beautiful lanterns to mark the day.
We all enjoyed some music from Greater China, watched last year’s celebrations and had some delicious Chinese food. It was a fun day.

We extend a warm invitation for you to join us at our monthly coffee morning, come along and make new friends - all welcome from 10.00 am.
Dementia Cafe - First Monday of the month
Come along and make new friends over a refreshing drink and slice of home made cake from 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm.
