Highfield Care Home in Tadcaster
We are planning the re-development of Highfield Care Home, in order to build a new, state of the art, 70 bedroom care home on the existing site. The work will include the demolition of the existing home which will cause considerable disruption. Due to the significant work needed we are sorry to say that we are not able to do this whilst residents are living in the home, so have made the difficult decision to close the home whilst we do this and will no longer be accepting any residents into the home. If you are looking for a care in Tadcaster or the surrounding area, please contact one of our sister homes below:
Highfield Care Home in Tadcaster is set in beautiful and tranquil open parkland, overlooking a lake and in close proximity to the historic Roman Catholic Church of Scarthingwell Park.
Here at Highfield we offer an extremely high level of 24-hour nursing care, providing specialist care for frailty and for people with illnesses, including Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. Our Memory Lane Community is a dedicated residential facility that provides expert dementia care, in addition to end of life care.
In our nursing home, our team of highly qualified and attentive staff focus on dignity, choice and independence for all the individuals we support, based on a tailored care plan for each person. Dedication is a feature of the whole team, from our kitchen staff concentrating on cooking and hospitality through to the organisation of fantastic activities and events for our residents and relatives.
Please feel free to call and discuss any care questions you may have with one of our team.
Why not arrange a visit to Highfield to share a coffee and some cake with us, and see for yourself just how we may be able to meet your needs - now or in the future?
Types of care
Highfield has two separate communities within the building: the first floor is home to our Memory Lane residential dementia community, where 14 people who live with memory impairment or other symptoms of dementia are able to enjoy a peaceful and relaxed experience with staff who understand the many and varied effects of the condition. They are supported by external agencies to ensure the care they provide is evidence-based and current practice. On the ground floor, we have 26 bedrooms for people with nursing needs. This can include frail elderly people, those living with motor neurone disease, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's and MS. We recognise each person as an individual and tailor our care to their requirements to ensure that they are able to feel at home and live a life they choose to live.Read more

Hi, my name is Adel, and I’m the General Manager here at Highfield Care Home. Welcome to our website!
I am a Registered Nurse and have worked in the care sector for over 15 years. Prior to joining Barchester in 2014, I worked as a Night Manager, Deputy Manager and then a Home Manager in a different care home, which specialised in dementia care.
Highfield's team and I have achieved great things whilst working together, including an overall rating of 'Good' from the CQC and a 5 star rating for Food Safety and Hygiene. This home continues to be the preferred elderly care provider not only to our local community, but also to our neighbouring villages and localities.
I think you’ll find us ideally suited to meet your needs now and in the future, so why not arrange a visit to meet myself and my team?Get in touch Meet my team
