Spen Court Care Home in Heckmondwike

Spen Court is a modern and spacious care home in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, offering views of Spen Valley Greenway. The home provides residential services to older people, with a team of professional care staff tending to residents' needs. We also offer respite care for those who only require a short stay.

Dementia Care

Additionally, Spen Court has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Bedrooms at Spen Court are set across two floors, and each floor has its own living room and dining room, allowing residents to relax, social and dine in style.

The home is surrounded by its own landscaped rockery garden and a popular patio area outside the ground floor dining room, while residents can easily access and be involved with their local community.

We look forward to welcoming you into our home!
