Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Staff Appreciation - November 2023
Collingtree Park care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Care Assistant; Paula Dolan on receiving Employee of the Month for November 2023. Paula has been nominated for her continual hard work and for always wearing a smile that makes everyone smile along!
Home Manager; Nikki Allen confirmed, "Paula is such a hard working member of the Collingtree team, she's always happy and loved by our residents. We all hope she enjoys spending the voucher and on receiving the well-deserved Barchester accolade." Paula received a £25 voucher as a special 'thank you' for her continued hard work and dedication to the Collingtree Park family.

Christmas Wreath Making
What a lovely afternoon we had at our festive Dementia Café. This month we decided to try our hand at wreath making and it turns out Daisy Lane are very talented at festive crafts. As well as the festive crafts, our residents enjoyed chats with volunteer Belinda, and a little helper too. We all enjoyed a warm cup of tea with cakes from the kitchen whilst we shared Christmas memories together.
Our dementia café takes place on the first Wednesday of every month, at 2:30pm on Daisy Lane - All Welcome.

Happy Birthday 'Nannette'
On the 5th day of Christmas we had a wonderful birthday surprise for the lovely Nannette. Chef Jenni knows that Nannette isn't that keen on cake but simply loves fresh fruit so her home made celebration cake was loaded full of her favourite berries and slices of mango and kiwi fruit. Happy birthday from all at Collingtree Park Nannette, and thank you for sharing your cake with us all!

Nursery Children Sing Carols
This morning we have been joined by a lovely group of nursery children sharing their Christmas stories and carolling with us. The children from KiddiesatHome Nursery delighted our residents with 'We wish you a merry Christmas' and a modern classic 'twinkle twinkle, chocolate bar'!
We also sang a big happy birthday to Nannette who said "When I worked in a nursery we always used to sing, and even more so at Christmas. It's lovely to have little ones join us for carolling again this year".

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Over the weekend, our residents decorated the home with Christmas trees and lights! Jean, Pam, and Nanette all helped with decorating our fabulous trees and Nanette said "It really feels like Christmas once the tree goes up. Now we just have to worry about the mince pies and sherry!". Meanwhile, Pam and Barbara loved decorating the tree with 'Barchester' colours in reception.
We have also been making our own decorations on Daisy lane, which all of our residents enjoyed. These will be put on the tree in the Green Lounge for everyone to admire too.

Festive Sparkles
What a fabulous start to the month we have had at Collingtree Park. We were joined by Lesley Ann Vocalist Entertainer and Katie Rose Vocalist for some Christmas classics on Daisy Lane, which certainly got everyone into the Christmas spirit!
