Ashby House is set in a quiet corner of Milton Keynes but is only a short drive from many of the famous landmarks of the city. These include Milton Keynes shopping centre, the theatre district, Milton Keynes General Hospital and Stadium MK, home to the MK Dons. The home is situated close to the A428, 5 miles drive from junction 14 of the M1.

Ashby House is a residential care home that offers several different types of elderly care, including respite care for short breaks and permanent care for those who can no longer live at home. We also have a Memory Lane community specialising in the care of residents who have a dementia type illness and we offer support to people with nursing or residential care needs.

We are very excited to have made some major changes to our Memory Lane Community. We have created two smaller units, allowing residents at different stages of their dementia journey to live together in a more homely and cosy environment. We have added a 'lifeskills' kitchen, enabling residents to participate in some basic cooking and day-to-day tasks such as washing and drying up.

We have a varied and exciting social calendar and are always ready to celebrate any occasion. Our hospitality includes first class dining, with all meals cooked on the premises using locally produced, fresh ingredients.

We warmly welcome visitors, so if you’d like to arrange a viewing of the home, or to find out more about the services that we offer at Ashby House, please contact our manager, or one of our lovely team members who would be delighted to help.

We look forward to meeting you.

Ana Ciobotaru

General Manager

Hi, my name is Ana, and I am the General Manager here at Ashby House. Welcome to our website!

I graduated nursing school in 2007; adult nursing is a rewarding and challenging career where you have a real chance to make a difference to peoples' lives. I have always been passionate about helping people who are sick, and that's why I have chosen to work in a care home, as I believe that I am providing support for people who truly need it.

In 2011, I came to the UK, where I began working in a nursing home as a staff nurse. I was taught how to take care of people in a 'home environment', which was pleasant and rewarding for both myself and residents.

It was after this that the NHS healthcare sector started to interest me, so I decided to take on another challenge by working for them.

In 2013, I then realised that I would like to focus my career on management.

I completed my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care and then joined a company that supported and guided me in my new role as Deputy Nanager. My responsibilities were to offer sustainable support to the General Manager in all areas of the home.

After a short time, I was offered the chance to work as General Manager, which only helped cement the fact that this is what I want to do with my life. This role has been very challenging, but most of all, it has been rewarding - and I love spending time with residents, loved ones and my team.
