Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Daxter Board

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Daxter and I'm the activities coordinator here at Claremont Parkway. I've worked within care homes since moving to Kettering and have experience across the departments giving me a good understanding of all our resident's needs.

I'm passionate about providing tailored activities that truly engage each and every resident. Through getting to know them as individuals, I can work together with my colleagues to find life enriching experiences; small or large that will brighten their days whilst they reside with us.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Celebrating International Nurses’ Day

In 2023, the theme for International Nurses’ Day is... Our Nurses. Our Future.

International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.

Coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, International Nurses Day, held on Friday 12th May, is a day to celebrate nurses and care staff around the world.

The residents and staff at Claremont Parkway were happy to get involved by presenting their wonderful nurses with sweet treats and a surprize delivery of home-made cakes courtesy of their care colleagues Elm Bank Care Home - Barchester Healthcare.

Natalie Maxwell, General Manager at the home, said: “Our nurses and staff are hard-working, dedicated, and passionate about caring for others, and I’m proud of the professionalism and duty of care they uphold.

All their efforts are focused on delivering the best possible care for our residents, so it’s nice to take this time to show our appreciation in return.”

'In Full Sing' for the New King!

Claremont Parkway was 'In Full Sing' for the New King!

Excitement was in the air at Claremont Parkway Care Home yesterday for our 'Big Coronation Lunch' Residents and staff have been busy making Coronation-themed decorations and baking up a storm of red, white and blue cakes and pastries with the help of the homes hospitality team.

We had a fun-filled day of singing, dancing and glorious food including the King’s Coronation quiche!

Our residents, family and friends of the home enjoyed two live singing performances. With male vocalist; Ian Dixon in the morning with his repertoire of sixties songs, and the swinging melodies from various eras courtesy of the sensational Jenny Simmons in the afternoon.

The lounges and communal areas were full of dancing and laughter as we came together to celebrate our new King; Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Natalie Maxwell, General Manager at Claremont Parkway said: “We’ve all had such a brilliant time celebrating the Coronation. Our staff and residents love the Royals and so they were all so excited to take part. It was so lovely to be able to invite our friends and family to come and join us for a proper celebration too.”

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Congratulations Vera

We’re sending a massive ‘Congratulations’ to our 2nd Chef; Veronika Nemeth on achieving her Production Chef Level 2.

The Production Chef Apprenticeship Level 2 is for those who are working as part of a team. Within Claremont Parkway Veronika (Vera) is a key member of the hospitality team, she works closely with our Head Chef to produce centrally developed recipes and menus.

Achieving a distinction during her apprenticeship highlights her methodical organisational skills, energy and attention to detail. Vera has learnt so much including the key nutrient groups and methods of adapting dishes to meet the specific dietary, religious and allergenic needs of individuals.

We look forward to seeing the variety of cakes she'll now produce as she's also our star baker!

Natalie Maxwell, General Manager at Claremont Parkway, said: “Vera is an integral member of the team who excels at what she does. I’m delighted she has completed her Level 2 and continues to progress in her role. She has worked so hard and I’m very proud of her.”
