Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Elain Carey

Activities Assistant

Hi. My name is Elain and I help to deliver the daily programme of activities and entertainment and celebrations - there is always a birthday to celebrate! I like to see residents making friends and chatting with each other. I have a background in dance, music and acting, and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor, so I love it when we have entertainers in the home. We also have regular visits by therapy pets which residents find very relaxing.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

General Manager Jacob had a wonderful time meeting so many form the local community at the Kettering Cake 2 event. Listening to Discover Craft, Lakelands Fundraising, Read Easy Corby & Kettering and Shine Arts & Well Being tell us about the amazing things they do to help others.

We look forward to working with many of the crafting businesses and finding ways to support the other amazing charitable organisations.

Magic Moments with Furry Friends

Animals come in all sizes and being able to care, and caress them helps release endorphins that produce a calming effect. This week residents, and good friends; Mari and Phyllis had a wonderful time taking tea together whilst getting to know our visiting Pet Therapy guinea pig.

Digging for Dinosaurs!

This week our residents had fun becoming archaeologists. Using a small chisel and brush to dig into each 'fossilised' egg they gradually revealed a unique mini dinosaur inside. Every little dinosaur came with a matching information card that the group could use to find out all the interesting facts about the real dinosaur that once walked this planet.

During the activity resident; Mollie spoke about her time going along to an archeological dig in Pychley.

Pampered Pooch

This little pampered pooch was visiting another resident at Claremont Parkway when she was snaffled by Phyllis... definitely puppy love at first sight!

Aqua Art

Art of any form can help focus the mind, improve concentration and calms moods. The sense of achievement our residents enjoy is clear as they brush clear water over the aqua art sheets to reveal the hidden images below.
