Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Daxter Board

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Daxter and I'm the activities coordinator here at Claremont Parkway. I've worked within care homes since moving to Kettering and have experience across the departments giving me a good understanding of all our resident's needs.

I'm passionate about providing tailored activities that truly engage each and every resident. Through getting to know them as individuals, I can work together with my colleagues to find life enriching experiences; small or large that will brighten their days whilst they reside with us.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

National Doughnut Week

How can a mixture of flour, milk, eggs, yeast, salt and sugar deep fried until golden brown taste so good? When it becomes a delicious fluffy doughnut and topped with your favourite sweet things!

We’re a nation of doughnut lovers and over the weekend and in celebration of National Doughnut Week on 20-28 May our residents enjoyed a master class in doughnut topping (and eating) with a tray of freshly made doughnuts courtesy of the hospitality team.

The Claremont cookery class, with help from Home Manager; Natalie selected their favourite icing sugar colours and sprinkles to decorate each one before tucking in with a nice cup of tea.

Well done ladies, they look amazing!

Trip to Tesco's

Respite Resident; Barbara is a very independent lady who loves to shop! On a short visit to gather a few essentials from her flat today, our Head of Maintenance; Steve gave her the opportunity to nip into Tesco's Extra to browse the aisles for anything else she felt she needed to make her stay at Claremont Parkway even more special. (Umm Chocolate … and why not!).

David Entertains

An afternoon of song and dance with David on his Keyboard and Accordion. Our residents think his super and had a fabulous time not letting any staff member pass by without a little boogie!

Pamper Session with Care Team

We're a caring lot at Claremont Parkway. When our residents request some pampering everyone is willing to lend a hand to make them feel extra special from head to toe!

Members of the care team helped by the new addition to our happy family; Amelia from Tresham College in Kettering.

Amelia is a Year 2 student studying 'Health and Social Care' and on a work placement at Claremont Parkway to observe, assist and learn from the team on her career path to working in the medical profession.

Her caring nature, patience and understanding shone through as she provided hand massages and manicures, chatting away to each resident and getting to know them better.

You can see from their faces they enjoyed every minute of the 121 pamper sessions with the team.

Hook-a-Duck Fun

It was an old school Fairground game that had our residents giggling this weekend, as they fished for prizes courtesy of Karen from our Care team who decided to try something new by creating a pop-up Hook-a-Duck' game. Thank you Karen it was such a laugh.

Happy Feet - Happy Resident

When you struggle to find a pair of shoes that fit we'd recommend you call Tracey (or as we now call her Cinderella) from EVANS Hearing & Healthcare Centre in Kettering. Whatever your mobility need Evans will step up to the challenge!

On learning about Roy's predicament they made it their quest to find him the perfect pair of slippers. The service and care they provided Roy was 1st class!
