Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Trinity Singers Bring Christmas Cheer

On Saturday residents at Claremont were treated to the Trinity Singers, who once again gave a wonderful performance which residents sang along to. With a selection of Christmas songs that gave us all so much joy. We certainly enjoy welcoming the Trinity singers to our home, and we look forward to seeing them again in the new year.

From all at Claremont Parkway, we thank you for making our Saturday afternoon so very special.

Christmas Lights of Kettering

Today our General Manager; Katie took several of our Christmas loving residents on a mystery minibus trip to see the beautifully festooned homes around Kettering.  Memories of taking their own children to see all the lights came flooding back as Penny, Noelle, Beth and Barbara eyes lit up as bright as the houses we passed.

The ladies enjoyed every moment, and all agreed the delicious costa coffee treat on our return journey topped off their wonderful Christmassy afternoon out. Big thanks to Katie, Karen and Lauren for making it happen.

Latter-Day Saints Carol Concert

On Friday Claremont Parkway became full of love, Christmas songs and chatter with a visit from members of our local The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The church group were full of smiles and conversation, they spoke to all our residents and guests with warmth and understanding before singing a number of Christmas carols and hymns we could all sing-along to. They brought the true meaning of Christmas to Claremont; community, care, reflection, wellbeing and hope.

From all at Claremont Parkway, we thank you for making our Friday afternoon so very special.

Mayor Visits to Discuss 'Don't Dine Alone'

The residents and staff at Claremont Parkway were thrilled to receive a visit from Cllr Craig Skinner, Mayor of Kettering who popped by to find out more about our 'Don't Dine Alone' campaign that offers older people in the area the opportunity to join our residents for a complimentary meal.

Cllr Skinner took time to talk with residents, and staff whilst taking a tour of the home’s modern and spacious 61-bed care home facility which offers 24-hour residential care, and nursing care for residents from respite care to long term stays.

General Manager; Katie Wilkinson said: “It was lovely to have Mayor Craig visit, our residents were delighted to show him their lovely home. He spent time getting to know them individually and suggested local groups and societies the home might like to link with across Kettering to ensure the Claremont Parkway residents remain at the heart of the community.”

Claremont Parkway care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. We know the importance of company, particularly at this time of year which is why we are offering local older people in the area the opportunity to spend time with our residents and enjoy some good company, and a nutritious meal with compliments of our hospitality team.

Christmas Cards from Buccleuch Academy

The Christmas surprises keep coming!

On Wednesday we also had a visit from the wonderful students of Kettering Buccleuch Academy who kindly came in to hand deliver Christmas cards to our residents.

The visiting students spent time with many of our residents, Mari was keen to tell them that she used to be a teacher and she had a lovely time reminiscing with them.

Some of the students are also cadets and arrived in their uniforms which impressed our residents greatly. They have offered to return next year to set up a 'board games club' and work with our home to design an 'Eco Garden'.

Thank you from all at Claremont Parkway for thinking of us, and brightening our day at Christmastime.
