Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Congratulations, Renato!

Congratulations to Renato Altez, who was announced as the winner of the Dignity in Care Award at the Great London Care Awards on 16th November. Renato has an innate capacity to care and empathise with residents and relatives, which is why he was presented with this prestigious accolade.

Going Wild

We were recently visited by Wild Science. The benefits of animal therapy are well documented; simple interactions, such as stroking can be beneficial to people of all ages.

Different animals bring different textures and personalities to the session. A mixture of cute fluffy animals and silky smooth reptiles provide a great experience that stays with people long after they leave.

Animal therapy is the ideal way for residents who may be less mobile to interact with animals and benefit from a new and unique experience.

Halloween Treats

Forget all the tricks, only treats were allowed at our colourful Halloween tea party here at Cheverton Lodge. We really enjoyed decorating our Home with smiley ghosts and colourful wigs and hats for residents and staff to wear!

During the morning, some of our residents were also delighted to help out with some spider eggs  in preparation for the tea party.

We had an impressive table full of sweet Halloween treats, complete with spider web plates and pumpkin napkins – and our ladies and gents really looked the part in their witches and wizard hats!

A little bit of jiving and plenty of Halloween-themed tea and cakes were enjoyed by all at our party – it was such great fun and a lovely way to get everyone together.

Golders Hill Park

We couldn't let the summer go by without visiting Golders Hill Park. Residents visited the little zoo where we could see deer and ostriches and a well deserved stop at the coffee shop for some drinks and cake.

Kenwood House

Residents and relatives loved our visit to Kenwood House in Hampstead Heath, where they could enjoy the beautiful peaceful English countryside smack in the middle of London! It's a treasure and a wonderfully kept mansion. We definitely recommend for all history and art enthusiasts to see it!

Live Music Entertainment

Live Music Entertainment

Sponsored by Live Music Now, Cheverton Lodge had the opportunity to enjoy an informal concert by some of the UK’s most exciting young ensembles Fran & Flora.

Drawing on musical influences from across the globe, Francesca Terberg (cello) and Flora Curzon (violin) lead a dynamic performance involving the residents.
