Activities at Cherry Trees Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual social events for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local theatre, as well as visits from Pat dogs, musicians and entertainers. We also host bingo, quiz and knitter natter afternoons that we encourage relatives and the local community to attend. Our Gentleman's Club is also open to non-residents every Thursday afternoon from 2:30pm, join us for a tipple of your choice, we have plenty of snacks and chats. For the ladies, our beauty salon provides; hairdressing and nail pampering, you too can enjoy a drink and some well-deserved 'me' time. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Cherry Trees is fun and active.

I have a real passion to enrich the lives of our residents and make them as special as they can be. Life at Cherry Trees Care Home
Lollipop Ponies
We were joined by the wonderful 'Lollipop Ponies' recently. We all had lots of fun and residents loved meeting the amazing creatures – they even visited some less mobile people in their own rooms.
Getting Crafty
Residents asked to have an arts & crafts morning, so we decided to get 'crafty' with pebbles, which are now displayed in the courtyard. A simple idea, yet so effective in bringing even more colour into our garden area.
Open Day
We hosted another open day recently; it was a lovely afternoon and we had craft stalls and a car boot sale. Residents, loved ones, staff and members of the local community all had a great time.
Car Boot Sale
We had a lovely afternoon at the local care boot sale in the glorious sunshine. Residents loved the afternoon and finding a bargain.
Sensory Table
We had a fun day trying out a sensory table. It was interactive, and we all had a go painting with a brush, and completing the games.
Summer Fête
We had a lot of fun at our Summer Fête. We had a body shop stall, a tombola, hook-a-duck, a bouncy castle and face paint. We also had yummy hot dogs on the go and some cakes and brownies for after. We had the delightful music of Johnny Tarino in the afternoon, which was much-enjoyed by the residents, family and staff. We managed to raise over £100 to go towards activities resources, so it was a very successful day.
