Activities at Challoner House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Poppy Wreath Making

Residents had a fun afternoon making poppy wreaths in honour of remembrance & armistice. It was messy at times, but the residents enjoyed getting creative.

Challoner Goes Classical

We welcomed a new entertainer into Challoner this month; Jackie Drew came and entertained us with her violin. She played many different genres of music, which the residents enjoyed.

Welcome Back!

We were very happy to welcome back the church into Challoner; we have missed our monthly services and were able to have our first proper service for a while. It was a harvest special, so it made their first indoor visit even more special.

Fruit Tasting

To celebrate World Food Day, the residents at Challoner House had a fruit tasting of fruits from around the world. Everyone’s favourite fruit of the day was the watermelon!

,

Sam’s Sunflowers

Residents at Challoner House enjoyed a lovely sunny drive out to Hayling Island to visit Sam’s Sunflower fields. We were able to pick and choose our own sunflowers to bring back and decorate the home with.

Ladies Morning

The ladies from Challoner House enjoyed a lovely trip to our local garden centre. They enjoyed browsing the store before stopping at the café for a nice cup of coffee and homemade cake.
