Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Challoner House Care Home
Christmas Jumper Day
Staff all dressed up in their Christmas jumpers to raise funds for Save the Children. Even some of the residents got involved by wearing Christmas accessories.
Christmas Baking
Our residents enjoyed a morning of decorating Gingerbread houses and making some lovely festive biscuits whilst reminiscing about when they used to bake with their children and grandchildren. It was followed by singing some lovely carols.
Getting Festive
Some residents at Challoner House decided it was time to get festive and wanted to put up and decorate one of the Christmas trees. They sorted all the branches and, with a little help, they had the tree up in no time. It looks absolutely perfect!
Christmas Crafts
Every Monday morning in November and December, our residents are enjoying a festive craft club. Most recently, we made paper wreaths that looked so effective. Residents are then able to hang them in their room when finished.
Our New Visiting Pod
Our residents have been over the moon about having the new visiting pods. It is so lovely for residents to be able to see and speak to their loved ones again.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
As we were unable to hold a Macmillan Coffee Morning this year, our residents and staff enjoyed a morning of making and decorating cupcakes. We then all ate them with a nice hot beverage.
