Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.

Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.

We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.

We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.

We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Alex Perkins & Louise Doyle

Activities Team

Hello, I’m Alex the Activities Lead at Chalfont Lodge, working with me is Louise Doyle. I've worked at Chalfont Lodge for 8 years now. I originally started off as a volunteer and fell in love with the residents, families and staff. Since then, I've been an Activity assist, Activity Coordinator and now the head of the department! Activities are my passion and I love creating an environment where all of the residents can thrive and do what they love!

Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Lucy celebrates 15 years at Chalfont Lodge

We would all like to say a very special thank you to Lucy our night nurse celebrating her long service award of 15 years with Barchester Healthcare here at Chalfont. We appreciate your commitment to our residents and your colleagues

Thank you to our Nurses!

Today we celebrated the anniversary of the birth of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale, also known as International Nurses Day, by acknowledging our dedicated and hard working nurses.

This year, more than ever, we are hugely indebted to all our staff members, and we are incredibly proud to applaud their extraordinary efforts and commitment, on this special day of recognition.

International Nurses Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.

May Pole Dancing!

Residents and staff celebrated May Day by gathering round the Maypole and dancing to traditional jigs played by our Music Therapist. One of our residents Amanda was elected to be May Queen and was crowned with a garland of flowers. Amanda was very happy being crowned and commented "I'm really happy that I got chosen, the flowers are beautiful and I've had a good time dancing around the Maypole with my friends"

BIG welcome for our indoor visitors

Here at Chalfont Lodge we are pleased to be able to offer a variety of types of vists to support safe opportunities for family and friends to be together. A loved one at Chalfont Lodge can have dedicated visits in their bedroom, use of our internal visiting suite as well as spend time in our beautiful gardens with friends and families enjoying high tea or even a glass of fizz!

Celebrations for St Georges Day

Mansukh and Louise spent the morning delivering homemade cupcakes to their local community to enjoy an end of the week treat and of course to celebrate St George's Day.

Staff at Audley Dean really got into the spirit of things and had a "St George Knight" collect their cakes. It was a splendid costume! We shared the photo with residents and it made everyone smile

Skittles in the sunshine!

Our residents enjoyed playing one of their favourite games - skittles outside on the decking today to soak up the Sun! Drinks and music was flowing throughout the afternoon and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
