We have just paid a visit to the Care Centre to see my son, who is severely disabled with MS. I cannot speak highly enough about the superb service given with efficiency, consideration and love by the staff. Thank you all for making an institution into an appreciated home for my son.

My husband’s care at Chalfont Lodge has been exceptional. From the moment I walked in I felt that it was a cut above all the other homes I’d looked at - professionally run with proactive staff who seemed to be ‘on top’ of everything that was happening, or needed to happen, in the home. The nurses have been professional, attentive and responsive whilst all the carers have been wonderfully kind and caring. It’s a lovely, extremely well -run, happy home which I cannot recommend highly enough.

We are a team of construction contractors and recently completed work at Barchester Chalfont Lodge Care Home. It was a great experience working on-site, and one of the key reasons was the amazing staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and highly professional.

We’d like to give special thanks to the manager and her assistant — they were always available to support us, helped resolve any issues quickly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Their cooperation made our job much easier, and we truly appreciated the positive working environment they created.

"Chalfont Lodge looked after our father for the last 8 months of his life after a catastrophic fall. They took on his very specific medical needs with skill and professionalism. There was a consistent set of staff throughout his stay that were so kind and responsive that it felt like a second family for him. They noticed and responded to little things about his likes and dislikes that helped make his life much more comfortable. All our administrative and medical queries were responded to promptly, enabling us to feel confident that every aspect of Dad's care attended to. We couldn't have asked for a more dedicated, professional and compassionate team to look after our Dad. Thank you."

"My very intelligent son came to Chalfont Lodge aged 41 following a blood clot on the brain. Fed with a peg, told he would never walk again, and little mental capacity. Everyone helpful and friendly and the home felt like a home. He is contented and has improved physically and mentally in the 15 years he's been there. My husband and I have always been supported and welcomed by the staff and know my son is well cared for. Only down side, nicer to have a shower in room instead of usual bath, and lots of outside space could do with extra grounsmen or be sold (just a small overgrown bit)"

"My friend has been in Chalfont Lodge for over a year now and I am still impressed by the care and respect received by the residents. On entering there is always a warm reception. The residents and visitors can always feel the staff are approachable. They have spacious rooms if they want their privacy and there are also spacious lounges. They have wide variety of social activities to suit everyone. Chalfont Lodge is in a lovely location and my friend tells us often how happy she is."

"This was the first time I was able to visit my brother in his new home, as we live very distant. We visited last Friday, after a long journey & what a pleasure it was to be greeted by the charming Receptionist ,who knew exactly who he was & took us to the Memory Lane unit. Smiling faces from all the Staff ,everyone helpful in directing us to my brother's room. He looked very well cared for & comfortable & we were delighted to meet his lovely personal Carer, who was very informative about his ongoing needs & care. It is sad, of course, that my brother probably doesn't recognise me now, but a huge comfort for me & the rest of the family to know he is being so well cared for in a happy atmosphere with good facilities. I was a nurse for nearly 40 years & am well aware of the difficulties in maintaining good standards in a Nursing Home. Keep up the great work."

"From the moment we arrived we were given such a lovely friendly welcome, and lots of smiles. We were very impressed with the bedrooms and the whole of the 'Home' was immaculate. The staff have been so kind and helpful always on hand a the touch of a button. The dining room, staff on hand to help and the food very varied and of a high standard. There is a Doctor on duty and problems are dealt with. The nurses are wonderful and kind."

"I was over the moon when I my ex husband was to move into Chalfont lodge last year, My daughters worked so hard to secure a place for him in this delightful care home. Although I have been his ex for more than 20 years I continue to care about him and his well-being and I have seen 100% improvement in his physical and mental health since he has lived in Chalfont lodge. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and the place is kept spotlessly clean and accessible. The activities are great and I'm also told that the cuisine is also. So a big well done!"

"Care after a hip replacement operation. Excellent care day and night. Physio essential to my recovery and was given timely effectively each weekday. When physio delayed management responded quickly. When I commented my room was noisy, management moved me right away. Good home good staff, good management. Great benefit from my stay for my recovery."

"I am very grateful we had x6 weeks with our aunty. It gave my husband and I great comfort to know Aunty was safe, warm, fed and cared for and only 8 mins away so we could visit her each day. Thank you and keep doing what you all do. It does make a difference."

"A certain member of staff (as with all staff members) at Chalfont Lodge Care Home is beyond exemplary, as they genuinely care and this is evident from the personal attention to my mother and to ourselves. "My father was admitted to Chalfont from hospital in October 2022. I was always very happy with the way my father was treated and cared for. He had dementia and Alzheimer's, but this did not diminish the care and respect he was given by the Manager, Administrator, Head Of Turnberry and all the team. He was so kindly managed through his final three weeks of life and died comfortably and peacefully. The staff have all been very kind and caring, a lovely home and experience."

"Everything, starting with viewing the care home, to transferring Mum from the hospital, and all the care she received in the home was perfect. Mum was always shown great kindness and treated with respect by everyone at Chalfont Lodge. Dad was also made to feel welcome during his long visits both day and night. It was a joy to visit each day, and whilst leaving her was difficult, we felt we knew she was being well cared-for all the time that we were not there."

"The whole staff are exceptional, not only in terms of care, professionalism, attitude and willingness to help. From the moment anyone walked through the front door, nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere throughout the home was very positive and welcoming. My mother-in-law was extremely well cared for and as comfortable as possible, making her last few weeks as nice as could be in the circumstances. If Barchester have an awards/recognition scheme, then I would happily recommend the home and its staff for an award."

"I came to Barchester Chalfont Lodge Care Home to recuperate and have daily physiotherapy after a knee replacement. I was extremely impressed with my room on the ground floor with a wet room en suite. The dining room was pretty and inviting with proper linen tablecloths and napkins and the food was varied and beautifully cooked - the only thing to mention is that it was sometimes lukewarm but a minor criticism overall. My ultimate praises go to the staff - carers, nurses, physiotherapists, cleaners and admin. who could not have been kinder or more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always cheerful and smiling. I was only at the Lodge for two weeks but it made an enormous difference to how I was able to cope on returning home. Thanks to everyone who helped my recovery."

"Sadly my mother had to go into a care home and we had to very quickly find a suitable place. This home stood out compared to others that we visited. It was a very difficult time but the care and genuine love felt by the staff was amazing. They are professional and nothing was too much trouble. They responded to any feedback and helped us to feel relieved at leaving our mother. unfortunately, she passed away in the home which they managed with extreme care and we were able to be with her in her final hour. They were genuinely upset and shared our sorrow. Everyone is approachable has compassion the standards are high. When you are dealing with one of the most difficult times of your life you need to feel confident that you have given your loved one everything that they have deserved."

"I have been aware of this home since 2013 as my father was a resident between 2013 and 2016. There is a much happier and more efficient feel and good to see the manager has been in place for just over 4 years. I have stayed in touch with the staff since my father's death and it is clear the home is much more better managed now and a reflection staff turnover seems greatly reduced. My initial conversations with two members of staff, in particular, were positive and they moved incredibly quickly to accommodate Mum. I was immediately impressed by the senior healthcare and in dealing with background and medication. etc. The activities I have met have been great."

"I am always impressed by the friendly staff who seem happy to help with anything that is possible. Always made to feel welcome, offered a cup of tea and homemade biscuits. It is a joy to visit. I have not personally experienced the food but the menu looks good. Neither have I taken part in the activities but there are many, sometimes every day."

"As soon as we walk in the door, we are given a welcome by all the staff; they also ask how we are. Myself and my son are not concerned about anything, which we appreciate very much. The only thing we can say is there seems a shortage of staff at the weekends. We always enjoy the cup of tea we can have with my husband."

"My experience of Chalfont Lodge has been nothing but positive since I first became familiar with the facility through visiting friends over the last few years. I have always found the staff to be very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. The lodge has a tranquil atmosphere, is surrounded by lovely countryside and has very modern amenities with good-sized rooms.
