Activities at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I started working at Bushey House Beaumont in 2022 in an activities role that I absolutely love. There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that mine does. I am delighted to be able to play my part in helping to bring joy and laughter into our residents’ daily lives and offer them an interesting choice of events to do just that.

Hanukkah at Bushey House.
HANNUKAH AT BUSHEY HOUSE
Residents turned on the final candle to celebrate our week of Hanukkah celebrations at Bushey House Beaumont. We started the celebrations last week by switching on our first candle, eating delicious doughnuts and singing traditional Hanukkah songs.
Last Monday we were joined by Rabbi Larry Tabick who did a talk for the residents on the history and meaning of Hanukkah. It has been lovely for the residents to meet every night and switch on the Hanukkah candles while saying a blessing and joining together.

BUSHEY HOUSE BEAUMONT CHRISTMAS PARTY!
Residents, family, friends and staff celebrated with our annual Christmas party.
Bushey House chef Avni and his team created a delicious buffet which everyone enjoyed.
Music for the evening was provided by local singers Eloise and James who were a big hit with everyone and had our residents singing and dancing along to their favourite tunes
So many family members and friends commented on how much they had enjoyed the party and seeing everyone having such a lovely time.
Crafty at Bushey House.
Residents at Bushey House Beaumont made Christmas decorations for our residents Christmas tree. We have four Christmas trees at Bushey House Beaumont this year and the Christmas tree in the Lawn room is decorated with the residents creations.
Gloria said: ‘it was such a fun relaxing activity, I hadn’t done any art in my life not even in school!’
Rita said: ‘the finished tree looked so beautiful and it was so nice to see the decorations we had all created on it.’
Art and craft sessions take place every Tuesday at 2:30 pm and are a firm favourite with our residents!
Bushey House Lunch Club.
Residents and our local community enjoyed an afternoon of delicious food, games, and great company at the Bushey House Lunch Club.
Everyone enjoyed a pre lunch sherry or juice, and Head Chef Avni and his team cooked up and served a delicious 3 course meal. Tina from our life enrichment team arranged a fun raffle with the opportunity to win fabulous prizes.

30 years of care at Barchester.
This year marks Barchester’s 30th anniversary and celebrations are taking place in all Barchester care services up and down the country across the month of November.
Here at Bushey House Beaumont we threw a special party to celebrate this milestone in style. We organised a fantastic afternoon tea party to celebrate our residents, their families and friends, and our hard-working staff members. Our talented chef Sean prepared delicious sweet and savoury treats and refreshing drinks for all to enjoy.
To everyone’s delight, we were joined by members of our community lunch club and Singer Steve Forward entertained us. We’ve loved getting to know our residents over the years. Each day is filled with the things that matter the most to them and our care is always tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
We would like to take this lovely opportunity to say a big thank you all families, friends, our local community and our amazing staff for all their dedication and support over the years and always.

These little piglets came all the way to Bushey House Beaumont.
Peggy and Penny 6 week old piglets popped in to Bushey House Beaumont to say hello. As you can see they were welcomed with lots of cuddles and huge smiles.
We always look forward to our visit's from Kelly from Performing Pets and wonder what lovely animals are coming to see us next.
