Activities at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Tina Stovey

Activities Lead /Diversity Champion

I started working at Bushey House Beaumont in 2022 in an activities role that I absolutely love. There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that mine does. I am delighted to be able to play my part in helping to bring joy and laughter into our residents’ daily lives and offer them an interesting choice of events to do just that.

Sunny Easter egg hunt at Bushey House

Residents enjoyed a fun afternoon in the sunshine today taking part in an Easter egg hunt.

With 40 eggs hidden around the beautiful gardens, the residents set off with their Easter baskets to find them.

Once all 40 eggs were found, our residents were able to exchange them for the edible chocolate ones, which they enjoyed eating out in the sunshine with afternoon tea and homemade cakes.

Barchester Bunny gives Easter Cheer to children in hospitals this Easter

The Barchester Bunny has been seen hopping from Hospital to Hospital this Easter carrying sack loads of Easter goodies for Children in local hospitals to make sure that everyone has a fun time this Easter.

Barchester Healthcare (London Region & Shelburne Lodge) worked closely with Tesco Stores at Brent Cross, NW London and set about raising and donating eggs so the Barchester Bunny could hop her way into hospitals across the region with sack loads of chocolate joy.

Regional Director, Wayne Hughes, commented: “As a region we get great pleasure from giving back to the community and spreading love and happiness. We would not of course be able to do these events without the amazing support from Tesco Brent Cross who raised a whole car load of eggs, sweets and toys for those less fortunate this Easter.

PASSOVER MOCK SEDER AT BUSHEY HOUSE

Residents, family and friends enjoyed an early Passover celebration today, with a mock Seder followed by a delicious Passover lunch.

The service was held by David, one of our activities staff. It involved all the residents, their guests and our staff hearing about the meaning of Passover and singing songs. This was followed by a delicious lunch of chicken soup, chopped liver, roast chicken and chocolate matzah cake, prepared by our Head chef Avni and his catering team.

Everyone had a great time. For some of our residents it was the first time they had participated in a Passover celebration and all said they really enjoyed it and found it so interesting to learn about the stories and tradition of Passover.
