"My brother-in-law recently required palliative care and was moved to Bushey Beaumont. Since he has been there we have seen such a big improvement in him. He is comfortable and happy. The staff are so kind, caring and attentive. The care he has received has been excellent. They have been really supportive throughout the whole process and I would highly recommend this home."

"My brother sadly requires palliative care which was a great shock to the family. Bushey Beaumont has been absolutely fantastic. The care he receives is exceptional and the time they all spend with him has really helped him to become happy and content. I cannot thank the staff enough for all the support the family have received and for everything they have done for my brother since he was admitted two weeks ago. The home is always clean and fresh and his room is fantastic. I would highly recommend this home."

"Came here for respite having been in hospital for mycoplasma pneumonia for much-needed rest and recuperation. This is the first respite I have ever been to and Barchester Bushey House Beaumont was recommended and turned out to be a very good choice. I am now feeling stronger and this is due to the care and attention of the staff throughout the home. Everybody has been very kind. As I didn't need medical attention very much, the nurses were always on hand should I need them. The meals were delicious and I am going to miss the variety of cooking! The manager was always on hand to speak to and I appreciated her experience and kindness in making me feel at home! Would recommend it."

"It was my mother's birthday earlier this month. I was delighted that on her birthday the numerous staff were aware and she had good wishes and 'Happy Birthdays' from so many. She returned to the house at teatime and staff gathered with the residents to sing 'Happy Birthday'. My mum is treated and spoken to with respect and kindness. We are so happy with our choice of Barchester Homes and she is safe and so well looked after."

"My husband and I received a very warm welcome and were allocated a spacious and tastefully furnished 'couples' room. I suffer from MS and am wheelchair-bound with no lower body sensation or control. I was delighted with the provision of equipment to meet my needs and the care and dedication of staff caring for me. When my husband joined me after a hip replacement operation the assistance, care and encouragement he received contributed to his speedy recovery and excellent progress in regaining his mobility. I have no hesitation in planning to return in the future."

"Was a resident for two weeks for respite care. The kitchen staff were very friendly and accommodating. The chef was always willing to prepare an alternative to what was on the menu and would come out and ask if I was happy with the food. All in all the manners, service and care were excellent."

"I stayed for two weeks of respite care initially now arranging to stay permanently. I have found most of the staff to be helpful and friendly as well as caring. The food and kitchen team are excellent. I am only able to eat small amounts regularly and it would be good to be able to have a snack meal when I am actually able to eat - at that time. Happy with the management team - very caring and helpful."

"I visit my friend, a resident here, on a regular basis. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and the general care of the residents seems good and caring. There are frequent activities which I think is so important for the elderly who probably have led a quiet and lonely life before moving here and now have something every day in which to be interested and to fill their time. "My father received amazing care at Barchester Bushey House Beaumont Care Home. The staff were so kind and attentive. Unfortunately, Dad was very unhappy here as he missed his flat and his friends. We are moving him back to his flat with a live-in carer but I know he will miss the incredible care and staff at Bushey House. Thank you to everyone who made his stay so comfortable."

"Overall the home looks after my mum very well. Her room is clean and tidy, the communal rooms are beautifully maintained. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very efficient. A big thank you to the activity coordinator, whose smiling lovely face cheers us all. The primary carer for Mum is also an absolute delight, as are most of the staff from maintenance to the chefs in the kitchen."

She is introduced to the residents and included with the residents to warm drinks and food and the staff are very caring. "I am a regular visitor at Bushey House and I am always made to feel so welcome by the manager who with her friendly smile will always make time to talk to me about my day and offer me a cup of tea. "I was here for a week's respite. The staff were very friendly. They answered calls for assistance very promptly. They were helpful in catering for my dietary requirements. The room was bright but not sure of the cleaning routine, it was not cleaned every day. It's not appropriate to be disturbed when already in bed at 10 pm to fill in a questionnaire on my toilet habits or have a Covid test, I know it's essential but timing! A mostly favourable experience."

"This was my mother's second visit to Barchester Bushey House Beaumont and once again the staff and care have been excellent. Apart from the weekend when there were staff issues in the kitchen, the food was really good too. There was always a good choice of entertainment and they tried to include my mother whenever possible."

"My mother has been extremely well looked after by all the staff. She found them kind, helpful and very caring. She was most comfortable there and enjoyed the musical entertainment very much. The high tea for the Jubilee celebrations were beautifully done, and all the staff made you feel welcome and cared for. The only downside was the food being cold once delivered to my mother's room. She was not able to eat in the dining room, and by the time it got to her, it was barely warm at all. However, there was a great choice on the menu."

"Two years ago living alone in the family home, I felt I was not safe there or when I went outside. I, therefore, came here. It has provided all I could desire and I would not wish to be anywhere else. There is a lot of love in this place. Covid Excellent is set against standards complying with Covid rules and recommendations/ The food and drink reflect the staff concerned operating without their kitchen or dining room for a material period, their performance was magnificent."

"Mum was transferred here at the beginning of the year for palliative care and is now totally dependent on the carers. I have found everyone I’ve had dealings with to be extremely pleasant and helpful, and they genuinely seem to care about mum’s welfare. The home itself is lovely; it’s clean; it has lovely grounds, and activities are available daily for those who wish to partake. Mum is obviously being well cared for and she seems to be as happy as she can be, given the circumstances."

"My mother has only been in the home for six months, and all during Covid. However, I know she is safe and being looked after. The nursing staff really fo look after her. "My sister only arrived in the nursing home in July after a rapid deterioration in her health due to illness and at a relatively young age, so a shock to all. I can only say that my sister appears to be met by kindness and attentiveness and in such difficult circumstances during Covid. The staff seem to be doing everything to make her life better when it must be so difficult for them not having extra input from visitors and outsiders so their time is stretched to the limit. A home in such beautiful surroundings is obviously a great help. I got a very quick response to an email with an enquiry which also shows the home is being run and led by a great manager."

"After an initial respite visit in September 2019, my mother became a resident in January 2020. How lucky we were to have her in such a safe place when lockdown started. I knew that despite the restrictions on visiting she was in a far better environment that she had been previously and I was able to sleep at night knowing that at all times all measures undertaken were with the prime aim of keeping her safe and well. Under challenging circumstances, the staff have responded magnificently ensuring that all residents were cared for as if they were their own relatives. Extra effort way and beyond "normal" caring duties are evident and so heartwarming to see. I am left in absolutely no doubt that this was the best decision our family has ever made with respect to her ongoing well being and safety. Thank you to all the staff and senior management team for your unwavering commitment to your residents. I chose Bushey Beaumont after visiting several other local homes. I do not regret it!"

"I'm very grateful to the manager and the team for looking after Mum. She's been in the home since Feb 2020 and it's been tough for us not being able to visit during the Coronavirus crisis. But we have been able to Facetime Mum regularly - the staff have always been happy to set Mum up on her tablet with headphones when we've called in advance - and it's been a great way to keep in touch. We've also been able to visit her in the garden, albeit at a safe distance. And the staff organised such a wonderful celebration with us for Mum and Dad's diamond wedding anniversary. Everyone has been so helpful, friendly and considerate. Thank you so much."

"Bushey House Barchester has looked after mum for 11 months now. As she was there for 7 months before visiting was prohibited due to Covid-19. I was confident that she was in a safe, friendly environment, where she would get the interaction with staff she enjoys, despite not wanting to leave her room. She enjoyed the food and seemed relaxed and well cared for whenever I visited. Not being able to visit her for 3 months was traumatic, and it is lovely to at least have the garden visits now. It will be so lovely when I can turn up when I like as before."

"My Mum has recently become a resident at Bushey House Beaumont and completely relies on the carers for everything. The coronavirus has made it difficult to see my Mum but a visit was arranged behind glass which was greatly appreciated. Once the corona laws were a bit more relaxed, a visit was arranged to see my Mum in the garden. The carers were so kind and patient with my Mum, even making her hair look pretty for my visit and holding my Mum's hand. They were helpful in answering all my questions and reassured me when I got upset. Well done ladies. Can't thank you enough or praise you enough."

"It is the current coronavirus situation that has prompted me to submit this review now, but a review for the wonderful people at Bushey House Beaumont is probably long overdue. My mum has advanced dementia and she's been a resident since October 2017. Whilst Mum might not be able to fully appreciate the quality of the surroundings and the impeccable care from everybody at Bushey House, we - her family - certainly do. The care home itself is just a lovely place to be - a stunning building in beautiful surroundings, and extremely well looked after. More importantly, Mum is looked after by a dedicated and attentive team of people at all times - from the carers and nurses to admin, cleaning staff, catering, maintenance and others. It gives us so much comfort to know that Mum has got such great care. It's a lovely place to visit, and I always feel like one of the family when I come and visit. And right now during lockdown, everybody manages to do an even more impressive job. Thank you all."

"My wife and I want to put in writing how delighted we were with the care given to my father at the home, particularly one member of staff, whose care and compassion for my Dad during his final two weeks was more than we hoped for. Also, one member of staff was just the most caring and considerate listener and caregiver at such a difficult time. She made my wife feel heard and she clearly understood the needs of a man approaching the last few days of life. At this was a greatly difficult time for the family, Barchester Beaumont made my father's transition both peaceful and dignified. Many thanks."

"First time I have left my husband as I was visiting family abroad. He seems to have really enjoyed his stay and was happy to socialize with other residents. He was really well looked after - the staff were very caring and friendly. I hope that he can stay again - both my children live abroad - Europe and Canada and as my husband can no longer travel, I am glad I have found somewhere he can stay and feel comfortable."

"Initial impressions were good, with the manager and staff pleasant and attentive. Costs were high but the location was good and we worked on the basis that alternative homes would not be that different in terms that of cost. Some niggles became apparent; extra charge for shower gel (at £1400 per week surely this could be included). Some food spilt on the floor was not cleared up and was still there the following day. My mother, suffering from advanced Parkinson’s, was kept in bed all of the time, even after a discussion with the staff. We worked on the assumption that the professionals knew best and agreed. When the cost went up by £100/week we started looking around and found another home, considerably cheaper, cleaner, brighter and the manager was clear that my mother should be out of bed every day. Since the move, my mother has been brighter, more communicative and has said she prefers the new place."

"My husband spent three very happy weeks in Bushey House Beaumont Care Community where he was taking respite care after having had an operation. His care was very good. I had no worries that he would be neglected, the staff were all lovely, the food delicious and highly personal care, also beautiful surroundings."

I have begun to regard Beaumont Care Home as being with lots of friends and I feel I'm amongst people who I seem to have got to know. Nothing seems to be any trouble when you ask for any help. "This is the second time I have been a resident here for respite care having been hospitalised with pneumonia. The care I have received has been extremely outstanding. Everyone has been so helpful and kind and professional which has helped so much towards getting better. "During her stay, my mother was kindly invited to take part in nominating the employee of the month. However, she found this impossible, to single out any one person. Bushey House Beaumont has a truly wonderful, caring, devoted team of staff. They all, without exception, showed extreme professionalism, efficiency, competence and kindness throughout her stay. Day or night, attentive to her well-being, the staff always greeted her with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble and this, combined with the excellent cuisine, accommodation, cleanliness, beautiful relaxing gardens and its geographical location, easily accessible and welcoming for visiting family and friends, made my mother's stay not only beneficial to her health but also to her morale. We cannot thank you enough and mum will certainly not hesitate to return to Bushey House Beaumont."

"I entered Bushey House Beaumont for one week's post surgery respite care. I found all staff with whom I came into contact to be helpful, friendly, courteous and respectful. The house is grade 2 listed and beautiful. The grounds are stunning. I feel I could not have chosen a better place for post hospital respite."

"Having spent 6 weeks at a previous care home with less than excellent care, it was a pleasure to find Bushey House which renewed my faith in the care sphere. The home has treated me with the care, love and dignity throughout my stay. My stay in Bushey House was due to my husband having a major operation and I have totally enjoyed my time at a truly exceptional care home, so much so that I will be returning for respite care in September."

"This is not a complaint but fact. This home is a listed building which means any building work is very long winded. I feel that many of the items that I have ticked "satisfactory" will deserve a higher rating. This applies to management who are easy to approach and respond. So much so that the manager has an agreement to make some changes which will be completed about June. With regard to food, there have been some difficulties in recruiting staff, but I feel confident that later on, it will deserve a higher rating."

"I came to Barchester Bushey House to await a decision of medical staff regarding a procedure, whether an operation should be done in view of my age and heart problem. I had the operation and was in a wheelchair. The cheerful and caring way the staff treated me was in my opinion the main reason for my recovering from wheelchair to walking."

"The Home is clean, well run with a friendly atmosphere. The staff are helpful and pleasant. Any requests that are made with regard to food, special arrangements, etc are all considered and acted on if possible. The staff are very patient, sometimes under difficult circumstances. Lots of different activities are available for those who want to try them. Residents who want to know the reason for the treatment they are receiving are informed of what/why it is happening if they want to know. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone looking for the sort of care they provide."

"We needed to find a care home for my father in law who lives with us - while we travelled to Australia for 6 weeks for the birth of our first grandchild. From the first contact to picking him up at the end of his 6 weeks stay we were more than impressed with the professionalism, service, friendliness, cleanliness and overall facilities and care offered by the Manager and staff of this stunning home in beautiful settings. There was a good mix of male and female guests and those we met were polite and friendly and obviously enjoying life there. Nothing was too much trouble for them - and they dealt with my father-in-laws specific needs superbly. We had a great holiday knowing that he was being safely and lovingly looked after and have nothing but praise for the management and staff and the overall environment. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bushey House Beaumont Care Home to anyone considering respite, holiday or longer term care."
