Activities at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Tina Stovey
I started working at Bushey House Beaumont in 2022 in an activities role that I absolutely love. There are very few jobs that offer the daily satisfaction and fulfilment that mine does. I am delighted to be able to play my part in helping to bring joy and laughter into our residents’ daily lives and offer them an interesting choice of events to do just that.

Life at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home
School Visit
Residents enjoyed a selection of music from the pupils of St Hilda s school. Children of all year groups within the school, came along to perform with a selection of instruments they are all learning to play . We have a strong community relationship with St Hilda’s and they often visit Bushey house all our residents agreed how talented the students were and really enjoyed the wonderful music.
LA Singers 60s Concert
Residents enjoyed a 60s concert when the LA singers visited Bushey House. All our residents enjoyed singing along to the 60s music and one even got up to dance along to the twist. The L A singers always put on a themed concert for our residents and are a firm favourite at Bushey House.
Italian Lunch Trip
Residents enjoyed a lunch trip out to a new local Italian restaurant recently . Although our residents enjoy great food at Bushey house, some of them had expressed how much they missed going out for lunch and trying some new foods . We will be looking at other venues and taking more residents who would like this experience on trips out over the coming months.
Get Moving Week
Residents and staff have been taking part in Get Moving week at Bushey House, as part of the Barchester Get Moving charity event . We have been recording all our steps daily and all movement classes we have taken part in . Staff have been pushing residents in wheelchairs and walking with them while we complete laps of the garden in the sun . We will be ending our week with a community cream tea, live music, cake sale and a raffle on Friday. We are raising money to support Barchester s Charitable Foundation.
Birds Come to Visit
Residents welcomed some very special visitors when our friends at Performing Pets brought some baby budgies in to see us . All our residents loved holding the birds and having them sit on their shoulders . Animal therapy is a great activity that everyone can enjoy and spending time with animals brings such joy to our residents we are all looking forward to seeing who visits us next month.
Wedding Dream Comes True
Wedding celebrations were under way at Bushey House when resident Phillippa got her wish to see her Granddaughters wedding in Spain. Phillippa was devastated, that due to her Granddaughters wedding being held abroad, she would not be able to go, so in true Bushey House style we brought the wedding to her. The home was decorated with beautiful flowers and arrangements were made with Philippa’s son, Marc, to live stream the wedding service all the way from Spain. What’s more family and friends, including the groom’s mother and grandmother who also sadly couldn’t make the trip, were invited to Bushey House to celebrate the special occasion with afternoon tea, glasses of fizz and wedding cake to toast the happy couple. We even created a guest book in which to write personal messages of congratulations!
Philippa was moved to tears by the event and was overjoyed to be able to witness the ceremony live from Spain with her guests and fellow residents. The day was made extra special for her when she got to speak to the bride and groom on FaceTime after the ceremony.
