Activities at Brook House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Reunited with loved ones

Recently we have introduced Garden Visits at Brook House. We’ve had some emotional but happy reunions after a few months not being able to see our loved ones. We can wait to see everyone

Carers Week at Brook House

Brook House held a day of celebrations to thank care staff at the home, who make a real difference to the lives of those in their care.

Staff were treated to cakes and drinks from the staff fund, with their breaks in the garden for relaxing time out. Soft music completed the atmosphere and everybody enjoyed the time. Relatives gave thanks by giving cards and small gifts to staff. Staff also gave a call to family members who have been unable to visit due to lockdown.  Residents were also appreciative and thankful for the care given to them through this difficult time.

John Gilfillan, General Manager said: “I am very proud of the carers at Brook House In light of the current situation our carers have continued to work tirelessly to provide high quality, personalised care to the people living in our homes, and often go above and beyond the call of duty, which has a huge impact on people’s lives. They offer friendship and comfort to residents and their relatives, during what can be a very emotional time. We appreciate the work they do all year round, and especially in these unprecedented times”.

A Royal Celebration

We had lots of fun celebrating the Queen's birthday here at Brook House.

National Beer Day

You better 'beer-lieve' that residents at Brook House were more than happy to raise a glass, and sample some top ales, in celebration of National Beer Day.

Beer lovers at the home celebrated and spread beery joy by joining the national toast at 3pm on June 15th, along with millions of people across the country to say ‘Cheers to Beer’!

The residents enjoyed the moments spent in the  garden and they’ve been sharing memories and stories about other parties and good friends. The music and joy made this day memorable.
