Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

National Biscuit Day

Whether you’re a die-hard Digestive fan, a Ginger Nut, or go crazy for a Custard Cream, National Biscuit Day, celebrated on May 29th, is the perfect day for you; and it was certainly a day of fun-filled biscuit dunking.

To mark the celebration of the nation’s favourite biscuits, residents tucked into a variety of their favourites, which of course, were paired with a good old cup of tea. There was much fun to be had, taking part in biscuit making and tasting. Residents also got the chance to share a cuppa and biccy with family and friends over Skype/FaceTime, which is proving an invaluable way to keep residents in constant contact with loved ones during these unprecedented times.

Gardening Club

This week, a few of our ladies and gentlemen took advantage of the sunshine and got involved with our Gardening Club on the home's beautiful sensory balcony on our Memory Lane community. Our gardening club is shaped by our residents – they decide what they grow and take leadership on maintaining the shrubs.

Getting Creative

Residents from Beeston View took part in a colourful themed arts and crafts session in the sun this week, drawing inspiration from animation characters in their favourite films. Throughout the day, residents created lots of art that were spread throughout the home for all to se.

Going for Gold

Residents at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View embraced their competitive sides as they enjoyed a traditional games afternoon together in the homes' extensive grounds and took advantage of the recent glorious weather. The afternoon began indoors with an array of board games for residents to enjoy, which saw everyone battle it out to be named dominoes champion. Many residents joined in with the fun-filled afternoon outdoors and, as the games came to an end, everyone sat down to enjoy tea and cakes together as they shared memories of playing their favourite board games.
