Activities at Bedewell Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Donna Brooks

Activities Coordinator

My Name is Donna. I am the activities co-ordinator at Bedewell Grange care home Hebburn. I joined Bedewell Grange in April 2022 and I bring lots of new exciting ideas to the role, having worked in the health and social care sector for the last 15 years. I am passionate about my role within the home and aim to bring a smile to all our residents faces through different types of activities. My personality is bright and bubbly so aim to share this each day at work. I have experience in supporting our residents who are more able as well as doing sensory Namaste sessions with our residents who are less able. As I gather the residents likes and dislikes if you would like to come and chat with me about your family member please contact the home to arrange.

'Good Old Hebburn’ collection by Norman Dunn

We’ve recently had the pleasure of borrowing the impressive ‘Good Old Hebburn’ collection by Norman Dunn, a local historian and photographer. Norman has dedicated his life to collecting these and has produced 2 books throughout lock down!

Our local residents have thoroughly enjoyed losing themselves in the photos and recognising friends and locations throughout the years. Here pictured is Bobby - a local, who shared many a tale.

Norman’s impressive collections are also in book form and are available to purchase! We’re looking forward to making them a permanent fixture in our home!

Happy New Year

Here’s to 2022! Wishing everyone a healthy and happy new year - from all of us at Bedewell Grange.

Here’s a few pictures of our star bakers - Doris and Jean, making our NYE shortbreads! They were washed down with a lovely cup of tea this afternoon!

Merry Christmas Eve!

It’s Christmas Eve, and we’ve had a lovely afternoon. We’ve changed to our pjs and enjoyed mulled wine, Christmas scones, festive films and received our cards and gifts for tomorrow!

Merry Christmas - from all the staff and residents at Bedewell Grange!

Christmas Party Celebrations at Bedewell Grange

This week, residents and staff had their annual Christmas party and it's safe to say we all had a wonderful time!

We drank our favourite tipples, ate party food, played games and were fully entertained by the amazing Greg Ross!

We couldn’t help but share all of these lovely moments that we managed to capture.

Merry Christmas from us all at Bedewell Grange.

Christmas pamper time

The ladies (and some of the gents) have enjoyed getting their hair and nails done today. We’ve really looked forward to giving our nails some sparkle for the festive season!

Kindness from local School

Bedewell Grange had a lovely surprise visit this week from some lovely girls from Hebburn Comprehensive School. The girls dropped off the most generous donations of beautifully wrapped Christmas presents for each and every single one of our residents.

From all of us here at Bedewell, a huge thank you - our residents can’t wait to open them!
