Activities at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators provide a stimulating social programme to suit residents' individual tastes and desires, and offer group or one-to-one activities based on individual preferences. We are a dedicated team that always ensures residents have enough to do to keep them stimulated and entertained. There are regular trips out on the minibus to nearby places of interest, and exercise classes to suit people of all capabilities, in addition to much, much more.

Nativity show at The Catholic School of St Gregory the Great

To start off the month of December in style, our Activities Team organised a special themed event for all to enjoy.

Our residents loved the amazing Nativity show at The Catholic School of St Gregory the Great truly enjoyed the children's performance and seeing them in all the different characters of the Nativity. A big thank you to Mr. Rachel Penny for the kind invitations.

Afterward, our residents enjoyed a cup of tea in the Waitrose & Partners, where residents and team members had a lovely chat reflecting on this morning’s performance and sharing Christmas memories.

It was a great way to get in to the spirit of Christmas!

Two Fantastic Trips!

The first one was to the Cheltenham Farmers Market, where our ladies had tea and a stroll around the market. We took the opportunity to bring some flowers back to the home and we also made some friends, who gifted us with some amazing cakes.

On our second trip out, to Cotswold RDA, where a 'Tea with a Pony' dementia initiative was recently launched. RDA created ‘Tea with a Pony’ in response to the growing number of people living with dementia, for whom horse-riding may not be suitable but who might be helped by some other form of animal-assisted activity involving horses.

Bonfire Night

In celebration of Bonfire Night, with a selection of spectacular fireworks by Cheltenham Fireworks and we gave our residents some sparklers to light once the sun had set. We all enjoyed traditional bonfire night treats, BBQ and warming drinks including hot chocolate and mulled wine prepared by our talent Chef.

Thank you for all our team members for much efforts and support a lovely night to our residents and community. A special big thank you to our neighbours from Reddings for kindly attending to our event.

Cooking Club at Badgeworth Court

This week, our residents got involved in an amazing Portuguese-themed baking session, organised by our home’s Activities Coordinator.

The experience was truly enjoyed by all and everyone made yummy Portuguese tarts. It was lovely to find out more about the traditions in Portugal too.

Pet Therapy Dog

We are so pleased to announce that we have a new lovely pet therapy dog visiting Badgeworth Court.

Elsie, a Cocker Spaniel, brings smiles and laughter to our residents, supported by her volunteer Han.

Thank you for this lovey visit.

Diwali Celebrations

Here at Badgeworth Court we celebrated Diwali in style!

In the morning, our Activities Coordinator organised an Armchair Travel: where residents were able to travel virtually to Nepal and India from the comfort of our tea room.

Also, our staff from Nepal and India prepared for us lovely surprises – a fantastic traditional dance and a show with authentic costumes.

We all enjoyed themed treats and snacks, prepared by our talented chef.

It was a lovely cultural experience!

Our residents said “It was a special day, a big thank you to all the staff who organised this wonderful experience for us. It was brilliant!”
