Activities at Ashlar House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Welcoming Coopersale Hall School and Jack the Goat

We were thrilled to welcome Coopersale Hall School to our home today.
Our residents were treated to a fun-filled singing session, where the children performed a number of lovely songs for them and special handmade cards for the home.
To make things even more exciting, we were visited by furry friends in the afternoon and we all had the chance to meet a friendly goat.

FIFA World Cup

We are getting ready to cheer our favourite teams throughout the FIFA World Cup. Our home is decorated with flags and our residents cannot wait to enjoy the action over the next few weeks. We gathered together today to watch the fantastic match between England and Iran, where Gareth Southgate led the team to a spectacular 6-2 win.

Our residents celebrated the win with themed snacks and refreshing drinks. We are hoping to watch pretty much all the matches and we are excited to see how Gareth’s boys get on!

Remembrance Service

Remembrance Sunday is a day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

During the day, our residents enjoyed putting a remembrance display together, with their own handmade wreaths and poppies, which turned out beautifully.

We enjoyed a special church service to honour veterans and armed forces members who have died in the line of duty, and we read some war poems.

It was a lovely day of remembrance, enjoyed by all.
