Activities at Wood Grange Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Ruby-Mae Walker

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.

My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.

I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Residents, families and friends who joined us for this fun event thoroughly enjoyed being serenaded by Activities Coordinator, Sandra, and her dancers. Care Home Open Day

During Care Home Open Day, visitors were invited to join residents to experience how fun life can be at Wood Grange.

Bringing the seaside into our home proved to be a big hit with residents, their families, friends and visitors. As you can see, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Traditional English fish and chips was served for dinner, amongst other choices, and 99 ice creams were very popular for dessert. Visitors commented on how much they had enjoyed the lunch and saw another side of life in a care home (the fun side).
