Activities at Winchester House Care Home

Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Tea cup flower's

This week Winchester House care home was donated some beautiful flowers in memory of a very lovely lady.

Residents and staff arranged the lovely flowers in our bone china tea cups which were then placed around our homes for all to enjoy.

Pancake Day here at Winchester House

March 1st, Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day and St David's Day.

So much to celebrate. Staff and residents had a fantastic time tossing their pancakes and choosing their filling.

Sadly, not all pancakes made it successfully to the plate

Our friends within the Community

Today Winchester House Care Home delivered a hamper of goodies to the team at 'The Capstone Day Centre'.

The centre offers a specialist day service to anyone living with dementia.

Capstone Day Centre is run by Age UK.

Working with our Community

This morning, our General Manager here at Winchester House, Liza Burchell and our Customer Relationship Manager Sue Stroud delivered some healthy fruit baskets and goody bag's to some of our professional contacts at Medway NHS Foundation Trust, just to say 'Thank You', for all they do.

Valentine's Day Celebrations

We so enjoyed Valentines Day this year.

Staff, residents, families and friends filled Winchester House with flowers, cards and sweets in celebration of St Valentine’s Day.

We celebrated the day of love by creating heart-shaped decorations to decorate the home and gifting each other home-made sweets, cakes and treats.

David, a resident at Winchester House’s newly refurbished Marconi Residential Unit, bought and put up red heart shaped lights and decorated the reception area for Debbie our fantastic receptionist.

A good time was had by all.

Any-one for tea

Afternoon Tea comes in all forms here at Winchester House.  It can be traditional with delicious tarts and fancies , home baked by our resident's or just a good old cup of perfectly brewed tea

Which ever takes their fancy, our residents and staff take every oportunity to indulge themselves with their favourite brew
