Activities at Winchester House Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Celebrating Success At Winchester House
Celebrating Our CQC Rating
Our staff were delighted after our recent CQC inspection resulted in our home being rated 'Good'. Everyone has been working so hard, and here’s the proof!
Cinema Evening
Recently, we decided to host an outdoor cinema evening, inviting family and friends from the local community. Although we quickly had to bring the show indoors due to the rain, everyone had a wonderful time, eating popcorn and ice cream and singing along to 'The Greatest Showman'.
ABBA-lutely Fabulous
We had an 'ABBA-lutely Fabulous' time when Tickled Pink Productions visited Winchester House and put on a show for us. Their show took us all the way back to the 1970’s and included all our favourite ABBA songs. Residents and staff had a wonderful time singing and dancing along to these classics, and we can’t wait for them to come back with another show for us!
Walk with Winchester
Many of our residents are living with Alzheimer’s, so staff at Winchester House wanted to show their support by completing their own memory walk for Alzheimer’s Society. We took on the challenge and completed a 20 mile walk in order to raise money and awareness for this great cause. Despite all the aches and pains which followed the next day, it was worth every mile to raise over £500 for our chosen charity.
Wonderful Sunshine
With the wonderful summer sunshine, we’ve been having lately, we took the opportunity to hold our very own summer fair in one of our beautiful gardens. Residents, relatives, staff and members of the local community came together for some face painting, funfair games and food and live entertainment from Rob T.
