Activities at Winchester House Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Life at Winchester House Care Home
Summer Fete
We have just had our summer fete here at Winchester House, and despite the weather, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We were lucky enough to have had some local business ladies come and sell some of their items, we had a raffle, cake stall, doughnut van etc. Fun was had by all .
Carers Week
Here at Winchester House, we like to celebrate all the good work that our staff do, so we treated all our carers to pizza and fizz and also gifts throughout the week.
Boat Trip
Residents and staff enjoying our very first boat trip down to Wateringbury, where we moored up at teapot island for some lunch and to finish the day with ice creams. The residents enjoyed every minute of it and was all full of smiles.
Barchester Care Awards 2023 - Divisional Winner!
We're so happy to announce that we have been crowned Team of the Year for the South Division in the Barchester Care Awards 2023 and are through to the national round of judging.
The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 13,000 residents living in Barchester’s 252 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Categories range from ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ to ‘Dementia Care Champion’ and ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’.
World Cruise Week - UK
Our last day of our cruise brought us back home to the UK. We had a lovely visit from children in the local community, we then enjoyed a lovely cream tea followed by traditional fish and chip, and to top it off we sampled one lovely British beer and wine, which went down very nicely with our residents!
World Cruise Week - Italy
So today we cruised to the beautiful country of Italy. We did arts and crafts, we watched opera on the tv and we also sampled some of Italians food and beer.
