Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Recruitment Day
During our recruitment day, we spoke to the community about our lovely homes and what we have to offer for both residents and new staff.
Animal House
Residents enjoyed meeting some exotic animals recently here at White Lodge. The session definitely put a smile on everyone's faces!
Knit & Natter
Residents have been enjoying knitting whilst having a chinwag during our regular 'Knit & Natter' sessions.
Summer Fête
We held a Summer Fête on Saturday 30th June; the weather was beautiful and lots of residents, family members and friends turned up.
We had the amazing Brian Slade singing in the garden for us and we also had 'Wings & Talons: The Art of Falconry' visit, which was a big hit. There were also alpacas, a BBQ and lots of stalls.
Everyone had a great time singing along in the sunshine!
Day Trip to Lydiard Park
We recently went on a day trip to the beautiful Lydiard Park just outside Swindon. Staff and residents had a wonderful day enjoying a picnic, visiting in the Church in the grounds and relaxing in the sunshine. The day was topped off with a delicious ice cream to cool us down. Thanks to Gemma, our volunteer, for helping on the day and making it a big success! We can't wait to visit again.
The Peaceful Courtyard
We have a beautiful court yard in our garden which is frequently enjoyed by our residents. It's especially nice when family and friends visit, and we are able to serve a tea trolley spread which can be enjoyed outside. Occasionally we have live singing performances in the garden, it's a lovely space for both quiet. peaceful moments and live activities.
Upcoming events
Farm Day
Good Day Farm will be visiting the home with their farmyard animals on Monday 20th May. We will have sheep, goats, pigs and even alpacas! Everyone is welcome to join us
White Lodge Garden Party
Join us for our Garden Party on Sunday 26th May where we will have live performance by the Swindon Brass Band. Spaces are limited so please contact us to book tickets.
Fabulous 50's Fete
Shake, Rattle & Roll to Hethersett Hall for a 1950s celebration at our annual summer fete on Friday 26th July 2-4pm. Classic Cars, Buffet, Concert and Dress Up all happening!
Pudding Club
Join us for our brand new event 'Pudding Club' hosted by Jenny. Indulge in delicious delights together every 3rd Wednesday of the month.
