Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home

Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.

National Gardening Week

National Gardening Week

Residents have enjoyed decorating plant pots and then planting lovely colourful spring flowers in them and also garden troughs to put on our patio area for all to enjoy in the spring sunshine.

Pancake Day Baking

Our kitchen team made us some delicious homemade pancakes in recognition of Shrove Tuesday. Residents also spent time baking some some shortbread and enjoying them with a cup of tea afterwards.

A Fun Week

We have had another lovely week here at Threshfield Court. We have had a visit from local poet, John Anderson, who is always gratefully received whenever he stops by; we've been out on the minibus over to Pateley Bridge, and stopped at Grimwith Reservoir for a hot drink and biscuits whilst taking in the scenery.

We are all looking forward to the coming months and watching the garden develop with new flowers and buds on the trees.
