Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Getting pampered

Some days it's all about getting pampered.
Resident Barbara enjoyed a facial and a hand massage with our Activities coordinator in the home's Salon.
Amanda prepared a calming and relaxing  environment by having relaxing music playing in the background while residents could just sit and enjoy getting pampered.

Birthday celebrations

We've supported Rosemary to celebrate her 98th birthday in style!
Residents and staff gathered in the lounge to sing and pass on birthday wishes to Rosemary.
Cake was enjoyed by all!

Stitch Story

Do you remember back in 2022 when more than 8000 people of Tewkesbury helped stitch an 8 metre long embroidery called Stitch Story?
We heard that it was displayed in Tewkesbury Abbey at the end of February, so we decided to visit!
Once again, it was lovely to see the final  embroidery piece all together, as well as our contribution to this impressive project.

Lindy Hop dancing

As well as the Warm Space , there was an opportunity to learn basic Lindy Hop  or watch the trained dancers.
There are a few Warm Spaces initiatives in Tewkesbury area, they are run by Tewkesbury Borough Council and are available to everyone to come in from the cold, have a hot drink, socialise and meet new people from the local community.

Eyes down, it's Bingo time!

Residents had a great time playing Bingo with the wonderful social care students, Daisy and Niamh. With a bit of healthy competition, residents took part and tried their luck to win some prizes!

Countryside views

We are extremely lucky to be surrounded by stunning countryside views at Tewkesbury Fields. Residents enjoy getting out and about, making the most of the fresh air and the sunshine. As well as walks, admiring flowers, trying to spot the signs of Spring and see the sheep.
