Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Woodcocks Christmas Light Switch On

The residents of Tennyson Wharf were invited over to Woodcocks for their Christmas light switch on and we spent a great evening in their local community.

The Lincoln Concert Band made us feel very welcome & played Silent Night for one of residents, making us feel very special.

We are eager to welcome them to our home in December.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this outing, everyone had an amazing experience.

A busy day here today at Tennyson Wharf care home.

Our residents started their day with a sensory morning of movement to music with Chris from Move-It Mobility UK Ltd

We also celebrated a wonderful birthday & this afternoon we spent time getting to know each other with an afternoon of time to talk. Our residents have responded to a number of important needs today, including social, physical & creative while boosting their esteem & emotional needs.

A Visit to Pennell's Garden Centre

A fabulous trip over to our local community this morning in North Hykeham - Pennells Garden Centre.

Five of our residents enjoyed the stunning Christmas displays & scenery, our residents got to enjoy warming hot drinks & mince pies. Residents enjoyed looking around the food hall whilst doing a spot of Christmas shopping.

Community Engagement

We are hugely excited to be part of the Imp Care home virtual choir organised by Debbie, an occupational therapist who visits our home regularly. A live virtual Christmas concert with 8 care homes & local primary schools, to be held virtually on 7th December at 2pm.

Pumpkin fun!!

We had a lovely afternoon with some pumpkin inspired art. Residents certainly got creative with beads, buttons and paper. Some beautiful pumpkins were produced.

World Heart Day

Today, residents and staff commemorated World Heart Day through a lovely day of heart themed activities and nutritional treats

Our residents started the day by talking about what makes our own hearts happy. Sharing the special memories and items that we hold dear before filling our paper hearts. It was a really heart-warming morning spent together This afternoon, our lovely hostess, Donna came along to help us learn about how food and drink can help to keep our hearts healthy, through a variety of word games. Our amazing kitchen team also provided a tasty and nutritious, fresh fruit platter and some beautiful heart biscuits to help us celebrate the day
