Activities at Snowdrop Place Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

A BIT OF MAGIC FOR THOSE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA

The residents at Snowdrop Place enjoying using our magic table.

The magic table uses interactive games to connect people in the mid-to-late stages of dementia with each other, their family members and friends, all the while stimulating movement.

Using interactive light projections, the magic table, which can be played independently or as a group, invites participants to pop bubbles, sweep leaves or interact playfully with fish.

Another game generates a series of well-known sayings and phrases, which often sparks discussion and brings back memories.

Games are rich in colour, movement and detail, and allows people of all ages to play in a safe and comfortable environment.

Pets as Therapy

Eric the Therapy dog of Pets as Therapy enjoyed meeting all our new residents. He loves all the fuss everyone gives especially the treats.

New Music Makers

'Local Vocal' of the New Music Makers joined us for a wonderful choir sing along. We joined in and sang some of our old-time favourites.

Chinese New Year - The Year of the Rabbit

We celebrated the year of the Rabbit by making our own paper fortune cookies, a Chinese New Year quiz and to end the day a delicious meal prepared by our Head Chef.

International Flower Day

Our very own florists Audrey guided us through our first flower arranging session.

For our first attempt I think we did very well.

National Winnie the Pooh Day

In honour of the honey loving bear we made our own little bears and this afternoon relaxed listening to chapter 1 the introduction of Winnie the Pooh in our cinema room.
